"It ain't braggin' if you can back it up." -Dizzy Dean

A number of years ago I used the above quote for a description when I created the the Show Off Your Latest Detail Work forum group on Meguiar's Online because I wanted people to feel comfortable sharing their work while not feeling like they were bragging when creating their write-up and sharing pictures from their results.

It's a good quote and as long as you can back it up then sharing your write-up and your pictures on our forum is a great way to showcase your talent as well as help and inspire others tackling their own detailing project.

Just talked to a guy on the phone about Dizzy Dean and I told him I had an article that quotes Dizzy...

Thought I'd bump it since it's a good quote and this thread is a few years old...

Now back to the studio....

:D

I have that quote and "each one teach one" on the front of my toolbox for all of my customers to see. I have Mike to thank for sharing those and putting meaning behind them both. Thanks Mr.Phillips.

Whenever I do get questioned on my "braggin'"...This quote comes to mind:

"I ain't what I used to be, but who the hell is?" ~ Dizzy Dean

Dizzy and Daffy Dean...
What phenomenal personalities this pair of pitchers promenaded to the public!

Thanks, Mike, for bumping this subject matter.

:)

Yesterday on the phone I talked to Dennis Dehn, at Tornador Tools, and he brought this quote up by Dizzy Dean.

Told him I had an article on the forum for the quote.

Dennis is a "Car Guy" too.... here's a project he's building....

I love the Dean boys and their stories.

Mike, I have one of those Fords sitting at a garage near me. It is fixed up with the garages name on the side of it. It looks real cool sitting there.

After the Wisconsin Roadshow Class I now want to get a 60's era van. This 1965 Ford Econoline was too cool....

Pictures and Comments from the Wisconsin Roadshow Class - 2017

I didn't get any pictures but the inside of the Van still had red shag carpet from the 1960's and 1970's.

Wow! How uncanny. :xyxthumbs:

This Corvair is nearly identical to the one we almost purchased a few years back as a cool cruiser & shop promo vehicle, & I even commented about it on your facebook post from the Wisconsin Roadshow Class when I was admiring the Ford Econoline. Very cool! Awesome saying too Mike! :props:

Yeah I'm a huge van of old Vans and while I'm not a sports follower I do like quotes by famous people like Dizzy Dean.

Mike- If you enjoy quotes like these, I encourage you to look up a few by the late, great Yankee catcher Yogi Berra!

Thanks, sorry I just found this...

My next rig will be a 1972 Chevy Blazer or GMC Jimmy. Like I shared in this thread, post #59

What will your next ride be?

1972 Chevrolet Blazer | Worldwide Vintage Autos

I hemmed and hawed and finally e-mailed and called on the above Blazer with only 50,000 miles on it and....

Sold.

You snooze, you lose.

I considered strongly one of these, see post #7

2021 Bronco reserved

I just prefer things I can turn a wrench on.
