I have a freind who has a Wrangler w/ a ragtop. This morning he went to go to work and found beads of water dripping from his headliner

What is causing this and better yet, how can we resolve this

Thank you for your suggestions and time

Yours,

Flash :)

First,I would check to make sure the ragtop is completely secured to the frame. (obvious answer I know). If it is secured, the ragtop may have a tiny tear just allowing enough moisture to enter the interior.

Get a new top from bestop...the wrangler tops are notorious for leaking even when they are new. My 2010 leaks above the doors and my friend's 94 leaks from the windshield gutter.

Hell, my hardtop leaks on my 2007 4dr Wrangler. Welcome to Jeeps! Bestop makes great products as Jon says.

Parked inside or outside? What was the overnight temp like?

From my 25 years owning, working on, buying and selling, I've seen this alot.
Remove top, clean both sides and wash thoroughly, allow to dry completely, treat top and bottom with vinyl top protectant and allow to dry, reinstall
Just like a tent the more you touch them they seem to sweat from temperature changes...hotter inside than outside

Hope It was helpful

Thanks for the tips. I wonder if after cleaning, spraying Scotchguard might help? I thought of throwing some of those moisture packs under the seats too

Outside...59 degrees...Thank you

OK...I had a 87 Wrangler w/ a bikini top. It stayed wet all the time. Thank you

I will make a note of this company you speak of. Thanks for the tip

I asked my freind if he had tried washing to find a leak. After a 20 second hesitation he said he was wanting me to do that part. I'm going to give it a shot and see what gives

Thank you

if it is leaking from stitching Scotchgard won't do anything but it will help condensation issue

That makes sense

Wonder where the best place would be to find a hard top? This is what he really wants
