I saw on ESPN a report about ex-Heavyweight Champion Joe Frazier being seriously ill with liver cancer. Please include him in your prayers. He was an inspiration to me in my youth and always carried himself with dignity. He participated in some epic battles with Muhammed Ali, Ken Norton, George Foreman, Oscar Bonavena, and other boxers in a time when boxing was really fun to watch. A true warrior, he will probably be admired most for a fight that he lost, the "Thrilla in Manilla" to Ali.

Frazier was one of the most underrated heavyweight champs. He gave "the greatest" fits in their three matches, winning one of them. I've heard rumors that he busted up Larry Holmes in a couple of sparring sessions as well. Unfortunately, he seemed to have peaked very early and just wasn't the same after the first Ali fight. He had power in both hands but probably the most famous left hook in boxing. Praying for you, smoking Joe.
