Hey everyone! My name is Jon and I have been on the sidelines here at AutoGeek soaking in all the knowledge that is here on this site. Decided to go ahead and become active in discussion here and look forward to learning more.

I am the general manager of a restaurant here in Goldsboro, NC, but my true joy is in car detailing. I have always been picky about my vehicles and people seem to notice since they would come up to me and ask if I detail on the side. I started a hobbie of cleaning other people's rides around the end of 2008 and my hobby has grown to a side job. This year, I chose the name Absolute Perfection Auto Detailing as my detailing business and business has slowly grown by word of mouth mostly, picking client's vehicles up at their work and detailing them at my house, or the client dropping them off at my house and picking up at their convenience. A lot of my business is repeat customers.

I just ordered my DA PC from Auto Geek last month and will begin offering paint correction services as well. Really hope to utilize the PC and work smarter, not harder. I'm sure i will upgrade to a FLEX before long.

:welcome: I'm also trying to start a detailing business. It just suck its winter now here in NJ. Very slow and hard to work outside in 40 degree weather.

I agree! This time of year it is slower, hence I am thankful that it isnt my full time job right now. I am planning for a full detail(clay bar/wax) on monday with the high of 40degrees. Its all good though:props:

Welcome. I used to be in Jacksonville, glad I left. I love North Carolina overall though.
 
Wow! A lot has changed since I posted this 3 years ago. I have personally met and worked next to a couple folks who responded to this thread. This has truly been an adventure!

I started detailing out of my house while working a full time job, quit the full time job, and now have opened up a shop. Business is doing well and I am proud to say that I no longer have a job since I love what I do so much.
