Just ordered gg

You'll love that DA, IMO it's the best offered.
I just bought mine three weeks ago and still amazed at how much faster I get with the results I'm after.
If will not bog down on you no matter how much pressure you put on it.

Just ordered my new kit which I went with is this Griot’s Garage & Meguiar’s Paint Perfection Kit 3rd Generation!
Anyway i'm wondering if I should order anything else pads/sealants/waxes/tools let me know and any tips would be great this is my first buffer and also ''paint correction''

Just a few things off the top of my head you will need...

Pad Brush (not 100% necessary)
Pad Cleaner or APC
Sealant or Wax (your preference...I just fell in love with Blackfire Wet Diamond...super easy to use and wow does it look good)
A good Car Wash Soap
About 1000000 more microfiber towels (maybe a little less than that)

GG is a great machine. Get more pads & microfibers. You will definitely need a wax or sealant. It wouldn't hurt to grab both.

I always feel like I need more pads. My favorite is the Meguiars microfiber cutting pad.

Thanks I seen a video of you talking about it and it really helped.

Apc= all purpose cleaner? Also I've read/watch videos on washing them in regular dish soap? Or should I just get a apc. Thanks.

That's what I really need to know and not sure what pads to get though. Comes with an orange/blue/gray I think in this kit. And im staying with 6.5 pad.

Also I need help on ips wipedown I think it's called? To make sure there are no filers after my polish pass? Not sure what to do with that. Also just got a email from autogeek about gg is on back order so looks like I will be waiting a little while.

APC (All Purpose Cleaner) is more for cleaning things like the interior, tires, engine bay, etc. not for cleaning the car.

You can wash your car with dish soap (dawn) but only if you are trying to strip off old wax or sealant. If you have already taken the time to compound, polish, and wax or seal your car, you don't want to wash all your wax/sealant off when you go to wash your car a week later. A good car wash soap will be much more mild and help leave your protective layer intact.

IPA=Isopropyl Alcohol

You can use IPA to wipe down your vehicle after you are done polishing and before moving on to waxing/sealing. This will help clean off all the oils/fillers left behind after the polishing step and make it easier for your wax or sealant to bond with your paint.

You can also try a dedicated product for this step like Carpro Eraser or the new DP Coating Prep Polish. I have only used the prep polish and I can say it really does leave your paint squeaky clean and ready for your choice of LSP (Last Step Product).

And im staying with 6.5 pad.
While the GG DA can handle the 6.5" pads smaller 5.5" pads will improve performance and don't forget everytime you buy a 5 or 6 pack of 5.5" pads you save about $15 over 6.5" pads.

I just ordered a new backing plate and 5.5 inch pads.
So your saying it will make it for faster corrections?

So I tried out my new 5 inch backing plate along with the 5.5 inch pads.
Took me a panel to get use to it, a little difference in the two as for as handling but love it:)
