am considering the flex, im in mesquite. have u had a chance to try it yet? ive got the pc, but it bogs down easily.
I've only been detailing cars, (the outside of the car), for a few months. I started with the G110V2 just to keep my new car looking good, then my neighbors started watching and wanted me to do their car, plus it's a lot of fun & keeps you out of trouble. I usually do 1-2 cars every weekend.
After 2 months my G110V2's cord shorted out, no problem, Meguiar's stands behind their products. Until I get a new one, I need a buffer to take care of my obligations. I bought a PC 7424 XP. Used it once and decided to give it as a Christmas present. Those 2 machines are almost identical. I wanted to get something more powerful, like the Flex 3401 VRG to do some paint correction. (not that the G110 & PC won't, I've read that Flex just takes less time and effort, seen videos on it too) No I haven't used the Flex yet but I plan to this weekend.
I'll use my G110V2 with 4" pads for small places and headlight restoration.
Going back to starting out with the G110V2 or PC, I'm glad I did because it gave me a chance to learn how the DA works and feels and what it takes to get swirls & scratches out. I have to work outside under my carport and in the summer, I can only stand the heat til about 1 or 2pm.
The PC & G110 will bog down, that's something you have to master, not that I have, but there's usually a reason it's bogging down. Could be too much product in your pad, pad's too dry, too much pressure. Just have to buff some cars and get the feel and find what works. To get some practical experience, I've done several of my neighbor's cars for free just to learn how to do something. Win win situation, you get experience and their car looks 100% better.
Go ahead and get that Flex.
