Just tried Pinnacle Glasswork Water Spot Remover

Today I tried Pinnacle Glasswork Water Spot Remover(PGWSR). Wow I was amazed. I got out my Griots 3in 3in white lc pad and PGWSR. I was able to safely remove the water spots from the glass. I can see out the windows clearer than I have in a long time. It was on a 2005 Prius daily driver. I would show pics but I was unable to get a good pic, glass is harder than paint to get a picture with that much detail. The water spots were not deeply etched they were enough to notice when driving and not come out after washing. When I corrected the paint I wasn't able to correct it 100 percent but I was more successful on the glass. I am glad I found this stuff, I am happy. The more I learn about this stuff the more I enjoy keeping the car clean thanks guys.
 
I'm a huge fan of Glasswork as well. It effortlessly eats through water spots and road film/grime.

Are foam pads a good combo with this stuff? I have a bottle, but have only tried it briefly by hand.
 
I almost started to break the bottle out I just bought today but ended up restoring some headlights today.

Which pad did you use? And how many section passes?

Ya but I wouldn't use the pad on paint again...I don't think I ever completely remove all the old product from the pad (you can feel the gritty abrasives when cleaning the pad afterwards).

Hydro tech white polishing pad. Works well. 3-4 passes before it turns clear and is ready to be removed.

I had the best luck with machine, hand didn't seem to work as well.
 
Would using a white CCS pad with my PC be sufficient enough to get the job done?

I don't see why it wouldn't work. I only used a lower powered griots garage 3 in unit.

Possibly. When I used it I had a PCXP and I used a blue LC Cyan Hydro-Tech Foam Cutting pad. I basically duplicated what Mike did in this article: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum...ss-pinnacle-glasswork-water-spot-remover.html.

In the comments he recommended this:

  • When polishing glass with the Flex 3401 use the Blue 5" Hybrid
  • When polishing glass with the PC use the blue Hydro-Tech Pads
Now, I imagine you could do it with that white pad, but having a pad with more cutting power is the way to go with glass. Follow his recommendations in the article and Scott's how-to, and you'll have some shiny glass. :xyxthumbs:

You will be fine. I used a white CCS pad with a bottle of Mothers California Gold Water Spot Remover for Glass that I had laying around, and it worked really well.

Can you explicit better work area, machine speed (~) and pressure?

I have this product, used once with medium success, but I wish I would learn more to make a better use of it.

I have a bottle of this product. I think I jumped on it, when Nick did a review here on it.

I tried the product one time, on the back lift glass on my Tahoe.

I put it on like a wax, with a foam pad, a little seemed to go far, just a few pea sized drops, and I had the entire window massaged with product.

I noticed a little bit of "grittiness", like there was a cornmeal-like, or some other particulate something or other in the product.

Anyway, I let it sit for a few minutes, let it dry-haze, then buffed off with a plush MF Towel, and the glass looked immaculate. No streaks, crystal clear, really nice, like looking into a black hole.

No regrets on buying this.

Ya sorry! White Polishing Hybrid Pad.

3-4 passes with medium pressure, nothing crazy but I did use speed setting 5-6, even tho the bottle recommends a medium (3-4) speed setting.

I polished half the windshield at a time without issues, if you didn't get the results you were looking for maybe try 1/4 of a the windshield and go from there or a more aggressive pad for heavier scrubbing action.

I've got a 4" orange Constant Pressure LC pad, and worked 1/2 then 1/4 (if needed) as you suggested, 3-4 passes, 5-6 (mostly 6) speed. 'Nothing Crazy', like you've said...

Really impressed with the results. Firstly I've though product was not that great, but obviously I needed to improve technique. Your answer gave me the path through it, thank you! Glad I've ordered it and have an entire bottle for many works.

By the way, I liked the Constant P. pad very much on DA. I only have 1 (now it's dedicated to glasswork) and only used it for the first time this week (single son, sacrificial pad for test spot on glass lol!). Think I'll go for more of those pads, mainly ~5".

I bought 2 gallons of WaterSpot Remover over the holiday sales, I'm a believer and it's really easy to use once you get the hang of it.
