My power washer stopped working, there was water coming from the bottom of the machine. So I called Karcher on 2/10 and was told to bring it their to local repair center. It was about an hour drive and when I got there, the guy seemed very unprofessional. I knew from the start this wasn't going end good. When I got there he didn't want to do the repairs, I had to give Kracher another call when I was there. They told me he should find the problem, either fix it under warranty or rapid exchange if not repairable. He took the unit and said will give me a call a week later.

So I called him today, since he told me he was going give me a call on Saturday. He told me pump is broken and that he doesn't want to deal with this $#%#. I told him that the service repair center should have filed for rapid exchange program. He told me to call Karcher and to have them give him a call.

I just got off the phone with Karcher and told them about my problem. They want me to pick up the machine so they can do a rapid exchange. I don't want to drive another hour to get there, because the repair center should be able to do this for me. The owner of the repair center was very unprofessional and lazy.

If you ever need repair work on your Kracher don't waste your time with the one in NJ.

I just got a call back from Karcher and they told me they will be taking care of this. And will be sending me a new unit.

I'm glad to hear that Karcher stepped up for you. I had a leak at the bottom of my old one and I called the 800# and ordered the part I needed from them. They sent detailed instructions and I was able to do the job by myself.

sounds like that d-bag at the repair center wasted your time and gas. good to hear karcher made things right... :xyxthumbs:

Yeah Kracher customer service was great. They said they we're very sorry for this and I should be getting a new unit in 7-10 business days.

I was surprised that the pump went out so soon. It's one of the more expensive electric power washers they sell.

Glad to hear they're sending out a new one. Did dude really say "I don't want to deal with this shirt?!"

Wow Gary, sorry to hear about what happened. The owner's attitude is very unprofessional and I'm glad Karcher dealt with the situation and sent you a new unit. What did Karcher say about this shop's unprofessionalism?

Yeah, when I was there he was cursing and looked like he didn't want anything to do with the repairs. He was saying "this $#@$ is coming out of my pocket, Karcher going screw me over." So I had to step out and give them another call to make sure I got the right place. And they told me to tell him he needed to take a look at the machine, to repair it or file for rapid exchange where I would get a new machine.

They said they were very sorry. I asked what was the problem with the repair shop owner and they said he had a lot to say... They also told me he not repairing anymore electric power washers anymore.

Hey Rich, was your electric power washer higher end model?

The repair guy needs help, or a new job. I'm glad you didn't have to jump through too many hoops before Karcher intervened. If things weren't going in your favor I would have suggested writing a letter to the president of Karcher USA. As the top salesman of the company, a president who wants to eat listens to these customer complaints and takes them seriously.

LOL...I think that's the guy I called when my old one died...he told me on the phone it sounded like the motor, and that the motor was not replaceable...so I junked mine and got a B&D from HD that I hate...what model Karcher do you have, Slick?

I got the Karcher K 5.540 X series 2000 PSI 1.4 GPM. It was around 270 from Amazon.

I thought these pumps were more durable then their cheaper models. A year ago I bought a Karcher I found at Target on clearance for 50. Those only lasted 15-25 times because it started leaking.

Darn...I really hate my B&D and I was hoping to replace it with one of those X-series machines. My old Karcher cost me $150 or $160 at Lowes and lasted a lot longer than I thought it would. I'm beginning to think the guys who said forget about these "cheap" machines and buy that electric for $550 are right.

Sorry to hear about this...I just recently purchased a Karcher...

If I were you I'd ensure that Karcher knows of this guys very unprofessional attitude and your experience. Sounds like they are doing business with the wrong service guy!

This is the exact model I just purchased...let's hope I have better luck with mine!

Too bad. There was a lot of expectations that the X series would be more reliable than the prior models. It will be interesting to hear reports from others.

When I looked at the Karcher Rapid Exchange, if it happened after a month or so, you would not get a new one but a refurbished one.

When a manufacturer does not repair something, it usually tells you something about the parts/labor to fix it.

I am sure this is one reason why AG does not sell a pressure washer.
