I know AGO doesn't allow reviews of products they don't sell, but this isn't a competitors version of something they have. I have been looking everywhere for a suitable cabinet to put all my detailing goodies in. I bought a Craftman one *I thought* was going to be great. But when I got it home and opened it, The base piece had a huge crack in it, and looking at the rest of the parts, it just reeked of piss poor quality. So I returned it. I found A Rubbermaid one that looked good, but it had a weight limit of 30lb a shelve and I believe 100lb total, uhhh no! Now I know there are a lot of great all metal ones, but they cost more than I want to spend, and are heavy. I went to Home Depot to pick up one of their cheapy HDX 5 shelve units and just happened to see this on display. I'd never heard of the brand so I Googled it, saw mostly good reviews. The price was also right ($169) and it holds up to 450 pounds. So I decided to jump on it.
Assembly was EASY, it's mostly plastic with some metal hinges so it's very light, definitely a job one person can do themselves. All you need is a Philips screw driver. They also include extra parts, they don't tell you which but the manual says when you're done you'll have parts left over and you can toss them. Due to my inpatients I tried way too hard to force a shelve into place and the support clip broke. I looked, and sure enough one of the extra pieces was the clip I broke. With any other thing I've ever bought if I broke a clip I'd be a$$ed out and hopeful if I contact the manufacture they'd send me a replacement. I do wish they would have told me which crap is extra, because I have 3 screws and some other stuff remaining and don't know if if's extra or parts I forgot to put lol. Nah, it's 16 steps to put it together and they're all real basic.
IMHO it looks nice, yeah it's almost all plastic, but it's sturdy and empty is super easy to move because of that. It also has a hole between the doors if you want to add a pad lock. It's probably hard to gauge from the pic, but it's 72 inches tall, 35 inches wide and around 13 inches deep. The 3 shelves are adjustable, with about 15 or 20 positions you can put them in
I just put it together a few days ago so I haven't had time to organize it. I tossed some of stuff in it to get a feel for it. I think I will add some light weight hooks on the inside doors to hang stuff like my fender brush and Wheel Woolies.
The bottom shelf supports up to 150lbs, and the others 100 each. I can't comment on the accuracy of that, but if I end up being able to get 75% of that without it bowing I'll be happy. I do plan to buy a lot more gallon containers so I guess I'll find out how accurate their claims are. Haven't had much time with it, but so far I love it. It fit my budget perfectly and with some organizing I should be able to get most, if not all of my detailing stuff in there. I have a lot that's still randomly laying around. Depending on the how much fits. I might buy a 2nd cabinet just for my towels. And as you can see from my assortment of stuff I have, I'm not loyal to any one brand. I will say the Scholl Ice glass cleaner's pretty sweet. It's in between a liquid and a gel. I spray some on my window and it doesn't run. Most importantly it cleans pretty damn fantastic. I know AG sells Scholl, not this product though. They really should carry it - I know another glass cleaner. But honestly this one's actually different from any other I've used. It's veeeeery expensive @ $17 for a 16.9oz bottle lol. I think a gallon of D120 is about 2 dollars more and it can be diluted 1:10 to make 10 gallons.
If anyone's interested Google 35 in. x 74 in. Wide XL Freestanding Plastic Utility Cabinet and you'll find it. I've looked everywhere and this was the best, non $300+ solution I found.
