Can someone PM me or refer me to the announcement about this "takeover" or "buyout"?

Good luck Scott!!

I think I started viewing AG around 2006 or 7, years before I became member.

I always enjoyed your posts, and input. I especially liked the tone and the overall environment you set for the forum. As one that hates change, these departures hit me hard..

Those early days from 2006-2010 were unbelievably enlightening for me, and consider those of you administering the forums pivotal in my personal development and growth as a paint polisher.

Again, best of luck, and many, many sincere thanks for all you've done for the forum.

- Dan.

Best of luck Scott in your future endeavors. You will be missed.

Thanks for being there for all of us and sharing on the forum.

Farewell Scott, all the best for your journey ahead, & thank you for all you have done for detailing. :props:

And Autopia, too.....makes you wonder

They promised nothing would change with the buyout. I wonder what's going on here. Also I noticed they used to have a bunch of giveaways going on. I hope they don't start getting rid of some products. If Mike Phillips decides to retire I don't think anyone can replace him.

What makes you think the new owner is making these changes? The folks that have announced leaving seem to be doing so on their own accord, and are moving over to Bob's corporation for the most part. Bob and Vision need to untangle product lines, marketing, technology, staff, services and support, etc... People movement is part of the process.

Private equity (PE) deals are very straightforward. There is a really good reason why these deals happen and over time we will see it play out. Some PE deals change nothing but most wind up doing so by nature. My guess.... nothing changes for 1-2 years at a minimum.

Scott, I am sad to hear you're stepping down here but wish you all the best. I personally want to thank you for all of the good things you have done to keep this place in good standing. Maintaining the excellent reputation this forum enjoys does not come without the work you have done. Certainly much of that work is behind the scenes and is tremendously unsung.

Thank you, again, and move on to bigger and brighter things personally.
