Hello all!

I recently got Klasse AIO and Dodo Supernatural wax from Autogeek (not to mention MF towels). I have a new, 2011 dark blue car.

I was thinking of washing the car, claying it, applying Klasse All in One, and finally top it off with the Dodo wax.

However, after reading around and talking to a few of my buddies who detail their vehicles often, they said that putting on a coat of carnuba wax on Klasse AIO is a bad idea. The Klasse AIO was designed to take only Klasse Super Glaze sealant as the protective layer.

But after I searched around the Autogeek forum, the answers are mixed. Some say it's alright to put on wax over the AIO, some say only to put in the Klasse SG.

Can anyone please tell me if applying the Dodo wax over Klasse AIO is a wise idea, or if I am better off buying the SG?

I have never ever detailed a car before- but this new car is like my kid! I don't want other people to mess with it if it's not necessary.

Thanks!

The Klasse AIO is for all practical purposes a cleaner/wax, if a person wants to get specific, then it's a cleaner/sealant.

There's always a lot of discussion about "bonding" and/or "chemical compatibility" between paint care products but in my opinion, the Klasse AIO does a good job of cleaning the surface of automotive paints to get you down to a "fresh base" and is friendly towards just about any LSP being applied over it including the Dodo Juice products.

When in doubt... just do a little Test Spot to the hood or trunk lid, if the results from your Test Spot look good then do the rest of the car, if not, then post back here what you're seeing.

What are you working on?

Hey Mike! Thanks for the response! I've been watching your videos on youtube on how to get the best results from my first detailing job. I am working on a Le Mans blue BMW 335i Coupe.

I suppose I will try a test spot somewhere on the fender that people usually don't look at. I will post back and let you all know what I found.

Thanks for replying- at least I know that mixing Dodo wax and KAIO won't set the car on fire or bleach out the paint :D

Also, can anyone tell me if there is a cure time for AIO? I searched and the consensus seems no- I can apply/wipe the AIO and right away start applying the wax- right?

I use KAIO followed by Klasse sealant and I've followed it up with Wolfgang 3.0; no problems, great results.

I agree with Mike on the test spot but I would also try a test spot without the Klasse AIO so you can compare the supernatural by itself. Maybe on that spot try just a paintwork cleanser.

I have layered it with caranuba waxes and nothing but shine...

Looks excellent, Redneckmafia! Do you use Klasse AIO and then a wax? Or do you also use the Klasse SG, and then put a layer of wax? Do you mind if I ask what brand of wax you use?

Thanks!

Today I went ahead and detailed my car. Washed, clayed, applied Klasse AIO, and topped it off with Dodo SN.

Quite frankly, I couldn't see a difference between putting on KAIO and then the Dodo, or simply putting on Dodo after claying... skipping KAIO all together. I might be ignorant and my eyes aren't trained to see the acute differences, especially since this is my very first detailing job!

But I went ahead and used KAIO all over the car, and then applied Dodo rightaway. The Dodo wax cures under 10minutes in the intense Houston heat! I took it off after 20 minutes- took quite a lot of elbow grease. It got dark so I couldn't really tell how shiny it is, so hopefully I will get a better idea tomorrow morning.

All in all, I am happy with KAIO under Dodo. It is psychologically satisfying to use the KAIO -even if it makes no difference- as I have already paid for it!

Here are a few pictures at the end of the job- sorry it got dark soon, so you may not be able to make out anything good; I hope to take more pictures when the sun is up tomorrow!

Thanks!

It rained today in Houston. While the shine is good on the car, I am a little underwhelmed by the beading properties of the wax. It just doesn't seem to be beading water droplets well... there are some beads, but most of the time water is simply running down (I don't think it is 'sheeting' it).

Something tells me that I didn't apply the wax properly, or should've applied 3 or more coats. Can anyone tell me how else I can improve my beading properties?

Thanks!
