I'm going to buy some new towels this weekend. Are the Korean towels worth the extra zort?

Thanks.

None in particular. I'm going blind researching.

You sure you're on the right websites then?!

I've tried a lot and continue to like the Griot's PFM line. Still have a Klin wrapped up ready to try though to be fair.

Between the sales this weekend (TRC Doorbuster deals for one) and Prime Days next week, shouldn't be hard to spend a lot on MF towels if you please. I think I've bought most of my PFM variants during Prime Days or after Turkey Day...

Not so much a matter of money. I'm just trying to find the best towels. So many seem identical with varying prices.

I've seen tons of "reviews" that are promos for the seller's products.

I would agree, at a point it really feels like many are similar. I feel like the more common ones for automotive are often Korean made but it's only a feeling. When I buy cheap ones for the home off of Amazon, I notice a quality difference and wouldn't even put them into door jambs... not sure if these are China produced though?

I tend to peruse forums like this one and buy off of recommendations. Now you have me wondering how many of mine are actually Korean vs Chinese.

Country of origin really doesn’t matter it’s the machines they use. Just stick with a reputable brand like TRC, Griots, Klin, microfiber madness.

I will say I also like the speedmaster ones I have got and the clean garage ones are nice too.

I only buy Polish-made towels.

The fact that they are actually paper plates doesn't really bother me.

I have to support my countrymen............:laughing:

The Rug company is made in Korea, top notch products imho.

The Rag Company have both Chinese and Korean manufactured towels in their lineup.

The Chinese towels are generally the 80/20 workhorse towels. Think Edgeless 245 and 300, Creature Edgeless, The Car Wash Towel, Standard Waffle Weave and even the Pearl Edgeless.

The Korean items are the generally the plusher 70/30 blends for drying, rinse-less and polish removal. Think Eagle 350 and 500, Gauntlet, Twistress, The Premium Pearl and Dry Me A River. The FTW is also Korean.

For basic jobs, I use the Chinese towels for interior cleaning, engine bays, polish and wax removal and coating removal. However, that is mainly for the weave and gsm types rather than a cost thing.

For rinse-less washing, drying and glass I'm using the Korean products. Again, mainly for the weave and gsm reasons.

So, I would say where the towel comes from doesn't necessarily corelate with quality.
