I recently purchased some yellow, orange and green CCS pads. The green ones are suppose to be the least aggressive of the pads I purchased. However, they look and feel more aggressive than even the yellow pads. The orange pad feels the least aggressive of the three even though it is suppose to be the 2nd most aggressive of the CCS pads.

The green pad looks and feels more aggressive than my maroon Meguiar's cutting pad, so much so that I'm actually hesitant to use it for its intended purpose - polishing.

I've never used LC pads so I have nothing to compare these to. Any help or input?

Here are some pictures of the pads. I've never seen such an open cell structure in a polishing pad as the green one has.

The black fibers are from the velcro backing. I had the pads stacked.

There are 2 green Lake Country Pads - one light and one heavy polishing.

Lake Country 6.5 Inch CCS Pads 6 Pack - Your Choice!

It sounds like the coarse green one is a very loose foam (like your picture shows) but not as FIRM as the orange. I know when you first grab an orange pad it is stiff.

You can tell the "cut" of the pad by looking at how dense and how firm the pads are. A soft plushy pad with small foam cells is a very mild or "no cut pad" whereas a firm pad with big foam cells is a more aggressive pad....A word of caution dont get caught up in colors. All manufactures have different colors depending on aggression.

This also works with wool pads as well. Big wool strands is heavy cut with smaller softer wool strands is a lesser cut

Hope that helps!
