From what I've seen of these they look like they use the same foam as the standard Hydrotechs. Is this correct? Also is there any word on if they will make these in 3" or 4" sizes for the Rupes 75E?

Yes, I believe I saw 4" orbital pads for sale online last night along with the 7" & 6." However,I could not relocate the site this morning. This place actually said they had them in stock.

I think Lake Country said its just the same color as the Hydrotechs not the same foam properties.

The foam colors are the same as Hydro-Tech, but that's where the similarities end...The foam used for the HD pads was engineered for large-stroke machines.

No word on whether or not they will be offering a 3 or 4 inch pad at this time.

Here's a thread I made back in July. It contains a lot of information about the new HD pads.

Up Close & Personal: Lake Country HD Orbital Pads for Rupes Polishers

If the LC pads are same price if not more expensive compare to Rupes....
Whats the point for buying LC over Rupes?

I will buy to try and see if the aggressive pads are more dense. I am not a big fan of the rupes blue pad open cell design. Although it may make cleaning the pad a breeze, I fell it causes dusting of certain polishes and compounds.

Well they are supposed to rotate better over curved panels. That alone would justify the higher price. I'm also hoping that the cutting pad doesn't sling product all over the place like the blue Rupes pads tend to.

My supply of Lake Country pads, (the old VC /variable contact) have worn out and I need to get new ones. Since they don't make these anymore, what would be a good pad to get?

If it matters, all I do is my own car and a few relatives' cars.

I got a chance to use my new HD pads today and they are a big difference from the Rupes pads. The HD pads just don't seem like they want to stall at all. They cut about the same I would say but the HD pads are so much nicer to use.

Which pads have you used? And with which products? Curious to know because I have some coming in the mail.

I used the orange pad with M205
