Lake's CCS pads vs their flat pads

Going to be doing a lot more detailing with my Porter and was getting ready to invest in some pads. Any preference between the Lake CCS and their flat pads?

Most of my work will be done with the 6.5 pads.

Tx. in advance.
 
With a PC the thin pro pads are the way to go. Also megs microfiber cutting pads which are equally as thin.

I use their CCS for compounding and polishing. Their flats for finishing and waxing.

In my experience, with my technique, 1.25" pads rotate just as easily for me as a thin pad...
 
I stated with CCS pads and moved to ThinPro's for compounding and polishing. I sometimes use CCS for applying sealants and waxes. The ThinPro's allow my PC, GG6 and BOSS15 run much, much smoother and last considerably longer - as well as offering more control. I find the CCS pads also run much warmer and don't last nearly as long - which is why I use them really just for application of products versus compounding, polishing and AIO's.

Hi all! Long time no "see". Am happy to talk about LC Thin Pros though.

I picked up some Thin Pros last month. Had previously been using only Hex Logic Quantum. LOVED the Thin Pros for compounding and polishing. Used orange with Megs M105, white with HD Speed on PC, on scuffed and swirled out black C63 AMG with excellent results. Just rotated them out often: used Grit Guard pad cleaner and let sit to dry until needed again. Of note, they are more easily cleaned and dried (using pad washer or in deep sink) than the thicker pads, which was an unpredicted but logical bonus!
 
If you're interested, Dave Patterson from Lake Country gave a great, detailed webinar on pads in late 2016, available on the IDA website. Sorry, don't know if need to be a member to catch it (?).
 
LC flat pads on my Rupes mini was outstanding and sure easy to clean

I like the CCS pads but Love the thin pads. So much easier to clean at day's end. I haven't used my CCS pads in a while for that reason

These are my go to pads.

Easy to use and easy to clean.

Make a 3" polisher work.
 
Another vote for the Thin Pro pads.

I've been using the Flat Pads on a DA similar to the PC for years now and was very happy with the results. However, this Spring I was able to try out a couple of the Thin Pro pads I received as a samples and noticed a big difference. Correction was faster/easier and the DA didn't have to work nearly as hard to move the pad around the surface.

Going forward, as my pads wear out I'm going to the Thin Pro's.
