Dear Friends,

Yesterday/Today was Land Rover time.

Client wanted a simple process, so his car would look more brilliant and slick. Translating into 'detailing' language, a wash + clay + wax (AIO).

However, I've done a bit more than asked. I had time to work on the car as the client would only pick it up the next day (today).

Process: Wash + Wash + Wash (really dirty car) + Clay + 1 step correction + Wax + Full interior + Bonus.

For wash I've used CG CW&G + foam cannon + wash mitts, etc.

For claying, I've used fine grade nanoscrub wash Mitt.

Please, forgive me for the cell phone pics quality and quantity.

At this time, I was sure Wolfgang UBER + Tangerine HT pad would do the trick, Easily. Man, I was wrong. Not a single touch to the swirls, only 'opened a gloss'... No, glossy swirls, that's not what I'm looking after.

Jumped to Cyan Pad and also, no results.

Thanks to Meguiar's Guys, I had this special weapon at hand:

Meg's MF system not only took care of the swirls but was really easy to wipe off. Used the recommended speed (4800 opm), really satisfied by the results. However, I had to polish with a foam pad because MF compounding (D300) leave a 'fuzzy' finish... 3 fast passes with M205 + White Flat Polishing Pad and the flakes really popped.

This was not on the list, but I cannot live (True OCD) giving back the car with this situation under the hood. I've only removed gross dirty, but scheduled a full engine detail for next time.

That's it.

Thanks everyone for watching, please, any comment, suggestion are really welcome.

See ya,

Kind Regards.

Very well done! This is the way to make a customer for life. Hopefully this little freebie will translate into a LOT of paying business.

BTW if Brazil don't like their Rovers, I have a special spot in my shop reserved for one so feel free to ship it to me ;)

Came out great. Definitely looks wayy better! Nice work sir.

Damn, maybe next time I want my car cleaned Ill come to you! All the extras you throw in.

Good stuff! I love working on dark colored cars.

Great job! a little on the side can sometimes be alot in the long run

Thank you very much everyone.

I owe everything I know to AGO community, and this knowledge is a huge differential inside this market.

For sure client liked a lot the end results, but his emphasis was noticing the 'Detailing' part. Removing TOGW(A) made the whole difference. Thanks AutoGeek Family.

Andre, obrigado pelos comentários! (thanks for comments). Let's get in contact in Brazil!

Sorry for the pictures. When the car was going away in the sun I almost cried not taking a picture that time. But I believe that would be not polite to ask for a last picture to the owner that time...

However, that image will be in my head for a long time...

Picture or that not happened... I know! lol!

Kind Regards.

Nice job. So you did not use D301 with the finishing disk? From reading this you went D300 followed by M205 and I'm going to assume D301 is the LSP.

Hi, thanks for asking.

My first thought was to use WG deep gloss sealant following Uber Compound as one step (wish I could) but as I couldn't follow that route I've decided to go with D301 as LSP, nice guess.

Using M205 in between may look excessive at first, but I wanted to guarantee that MF finishing would achieve it's best in all parts. The foam pad fitted better the car curves to provide a better polishing activity. D300+Cutting Disc leveled well, but finished a lot hazy.

In my opinion, using D301 alone to finish D300 (In this Particular Case) would also require some additional passes. I've decided to do that additional passes with foam pad and M205 (really few (max 3), constant medium pressure, moderate arm speed, polisher speed 5). Sure, that was based on a test spot. D301 following that was just 2-3 fast passes (speed 3) as well, incredible how this product takes advantage of the 'harder pick' of MF pads.

On this paint, white foam polishing pad worked better than tangerine HT pad for polishing/finishing purposes (I've also tried M205 on the tangerine HT pad this session, didn't achieve the finish pretended).

I've used this moment to test my sample of Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polish in some panels... Well, no difference on finish (on naked eye) compared to M205, but as good and a pleasure to use. The bigger bottle will be in my cart next time! That indicates this product can be used to polish after MF cutting discs with beautiful success.

Apart from that, this system is good because D301 can be used as an integral part of a maintenance program, it cleans and polish well many mild defects that appear in between jobs restoring the show car finish.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts,

Kind Regards.

Thanks for the follow up. I to have had success following D300+MF with M205+foam. Like you said it refines the finish.

You did a great job and the results speak from themselves.
