Has anyone ever used it before to clean an engine bay before i just picked up a bottle for a dollar at my local dollar tree.

I saw it at Ollie's bargain outlet first, then I saw it at family dollar. I haven't used it but something I think might be similar; one of those door-to-door sales ones. I believe all of those types of cleaners use lanolin/citrus based chemicals. So, they are bound to degrease fairly well.

I would be careful around black plastic but it's worked decent on tires in my tests:

Just dilute to about 10:1 for engines. Be careful around aluminium

I use it to clean my foam pads. It looks, smells and works the same as the WG pad cleaner.
