The last time I was home, it was unfortunately raining the whole weekend so apart from taking it down to Saab of Greenwich for the o2 sensor, it didn't leave the garage. I had bought a new pre-wax cleanser/glaze and my new favorite wax **** Oro and went to town. I did the most thorough cleaning of the car I have ever done, including the under carriage, wheel arches, every part of the engine bay, the interior, the spare wheel well (polished the spare tire), and so on. I really wanted to get pictures but garage shots didn't justify how good the car looked. So I took it outside this time and got some shots.

The car was jeweled with Menzerna po85rd and a blue ccs pad. It was then cleansed which left a perfect surface to start laying wax down. After the 3 layers, I had to leave it at that and didn't come home for a month.

I recieved Pinnacle Souveran Spray wax from Meghan to try out and used that to freshen up the car before these pictures. I also leatheriqued the seats, found my new favorite tire and trim dressing (Optimum Opti-Bond), and found another great spray wax (Pinnacle XMT 360).

Process:

-Cleaned
-Jeweled with 85rd, PC, blue CCS pads
-Paint was cleansed/glazed
-3 layers of Oro wax
-Opti-bond on tires, exterior trim

Thanks for reading, sorry for the long post. I will try and post individual reviews of all the new products I used so if anyone wants me to post certain reviews in particular for any of the products mentioned, let me know!

Were are the before shots?

I apologize for not getting any befores since all I did was do a quick DP rinseless wash since it had just a bit of road grime on it from the rain. The paint was near perfect already so I don't have any befores as it didn't look to much different than the pictures show. But this is basically what it looked like before I started polishing (older pictures from late september):

I am new as my rank (junior member) implies. I have come to this place to learn and be inspired by the work of others. AS you have indicated, the absence of before pictures is a result of the fact that the car didn't look much different then the pictures that you posted in this thread. With that being said the question that begs to be asked is this. What's the point?

Your thread does not show how effective the products are in doing the job, and your thread does not show how competent you are in doing the job. Your thread is like what the reality TV show "The Biggest Loser" would be like if they never showed the audience how overweight and out of shape the contestants were in the beginning. Don't get me wrong you keep a nice car but I think it would be better to show it off in your gallery not show and shine. Show and shine is were I want to go to be inspired and educated by the wonderful job someone did in turning a swirled out mess into a show car finish. If all I wanted to do was look at pictures of shiny cars I could get a new car brochure.

Is there a forum rule I am missing that says I have to teach you something in my show-n-shine? No, there isn't. Let me list it out for you:

-These threads do not have to teach anything.
-I did the work and appreciate my effort, and feel like showing my achievements.
-Most important: this is not a new car, this is a 1996 Saab.

So I just just laid out my thoughts on your post. Its insulting and I don't appreciate it. I put countless hours into taking this car from my dads daily driver to the train station to a spotless 13 year old car, and it has taken me years of learning and research to gain the knowledge I have used. I am open to comments and criticism, but you telling me that this was effectively a waste of time is uncalled for.

BTW... I think your pictures look GREEEAAAAT!!! Very NICE work my friend...Very nice indeed!!! I would rather look at them, then any new car brochure. Your paint looks way better than any new car I've seen!! :buffing:

Thanks alot trichard, it really means a great deal to me. :props:

I tried my best to restrain myself in response... Oh well, I will admit that I don't have a great habit of taking before pictures but as much as you might like it, the car doesn't buff itself. But most of the satisfaction is knowing where you came from, and sometimes I get the feeling that reading all of these show-n-shines you can get into the habit of seeing before shots and after shots which can make it hard to appreciate the actual amount of time that goes into the results. But as long as you are happy with the results, thats all that really matters in my opinion. ;)
Again thanks for the kind words!

Well it sounds like daddies little boy needs a hug.
:grouphug:
He wants his achievements to be recognized and appreciated but he can't show us the original state the car was in before he put in his countless hours of work. Lets all give Christian the pat on the back and recognition that he is so desperately seeking because obviously he is not receiving the recognition that he so desperately desires elsewhere. :props: :applause::applause::applause: :applause: :urtheman::urtheman:

I think that car looks great, I mean really great. I challenge anybody to show better sun shots that the ones in your post, they really speak the truth and I personally know how much work it takes to be able to produce results like you have. Fantastic job, TD

Obviously you have no common sense and are quite frankly nothing more than a pathetic little wannabe!! Many of us here know Christian and respect his work. Which the word "respect" is a word that I cannot imagine anyone ever using in the same sentence with your name. Christian has earned the respect of most all of us on this forum and has proven himself trustworthy, which is something that I can safely say you will never do here.

Thanks alot, I appreciate it! I'm just thankful that the sun was kind enough to come out for me lol; its seemed like every weekend I have been home the weather has been horrible. The car is not perfect, but I tried my best to get a multitude of angles. As long as you put your best foot forward, thats pretty much all you can ask for in my opinion. :)

R-E-S-P-E-C-T is a great virtue to hold, but some people obviously don't share that mentality. Its a shame, but the only person you have control over is yourself unfortunately.

Thanks for sticking up for me, thats the post I felt like writing originally haha.

For what its worth, I bought the car from my dad 2 1/2 years ago and pay for every single thing I own. I hate when people chip away from someone like this, really sad and disheartening.

Beautifull work Christian! I should feel nothing but impathy for this troll. Unfortunately I don't. It's very sad but I think it's this troll who never got his huggies. I have a lot of other words I would like to say but I will refrain. Enough time and attention wasted on his negative energy.

I think it was an informative post and enjoyed viewing it. Thanks for the extra effort. I guess if one didn't want to they wouldn't have to view it. Paul S
