Hello everyone. First post on this forum.

I have a meguiars 6 inch hook and loop backing plate that I have been using on my porter cable DA. I have been using the megs 6.5 pads but I am looking to try the Lake Country CCS pads.

Anyone know if the CCS pads will work with the Megs W68DA backing plate??

Yes, they will work, however I see the (mainly cutting) 6.5" pads too much thick and large, which will likely absorb much of polisher movement if you are trying to get high level of correction, or working on a hard paint.

That said, you'll likely to use (while trying to correct) speed 6, pressure (not so much to stop the pad spinning), and very slow arm movement.

For polishing (white pads) and finishing (black / gray) pads, this absorption of movement will be less noticeable since pads are more soft than the cutting pads.

It's always better to use 5" backing plates with PC like machines, paired with thinner 5.5" pads.

You can also pair a 5.5" pad with 5" plate for cutting stage (using even Microfiber disc), then switch to 6.5" polishing or finishing pad for the last step, to gain time.

However, I've done a lot of work using the same w68 plate you're referring to, paired with 6.5" CCS pads and could get there.

Patience, and your best technique is the key to get the results.

Hope that helps,

Kind Regards.

If the CCS pads use the same hook and loop as the LC flat pads then the backing plate will work fine. Why not go with a 5" backing plate on the DA and get 5.5" pads. It's recommended especially with a PC.

I think I will end up just buying a 5 inch flexible backing plate and the 5.5 inch CCS pads. Obviously would prefer to save the extra $$ but...

Thanks for the replies.
