I have gray leather in an e46. As much as I try cleaning it it's still a bit shiny. Pictures I see for my interior are pretty matte so maybe I'm doing something wrong or maybe it's just aged badly :(.. Recommendations for tools techniques and cleaners? Both otc and stuff online please.

Since it's the gray interior I'm pretty sure it's the leather and not leatherette. 90% sure. For starters I've used lexon and a microfiber. I then used lexol and a scrub brush for nails and even used a shoe brush for shoe shinjng. I've tried some LA totally awesome, forgot the dilution ratio so it might be been too weak.

Ive used 1z deep plastic cleaner with like a scrubby sponge and hav had good results

I just got mothers leather cleaner. It's the foaming one. My friend recommended it to me so I'll give it a go.

I bought leather masters ink removal it was 25.00 didn't do nothing, and it was a new Ford Expedition I didn't make any progress with it ,so I chucked it into the garbage. And took my time with a other product and got 95'percent results.

I have leatherique that I don't use, i think about 60% left of the larger bottles. Let me know if interested, it works killer on leather that isn't aniline. I have aniline in my mind ranch, so it doesn't work for me.

I've heard good things about leather questions but could never get myself to buy it, but I'm pretty interested in it

Yeah it does work, but aniline leather, ehh. Wasn't impressed. Aniline leather has no coating on it. It's a blessing and a curse... That means sweat stains, water can mark it, God forbid if you don't keep it hydrated lol. It'll start to let you know she's going to crack soon. It's very soft but again has many draw backs for most.

All in all, I didn't use it all. Send me a PM if you're interested. I then can send you pictures etc.

Try warm/hot water, brushes like a toothbrush, and cleaners. Heat and the right brush do wonders.

Update. I used the mothers foaming leather cleaner. It's pretty good. I got some more dirt off my leather but I feel it is still shiny or has a sheen or something.

It is strong I would say. I put the cleaner on the seats of my car, agitate lightly with a soft toothbrush and nail brush, and as I am wiping it with a microfiber towel it seemed to grab, so I just kept wiping and noticed little flakes of stuff on the seat and towel. I'm guessing I damaged the leather somehow :(

The flakes were similar to if you rubbed your hands together really fast to create heat and friction and you see pieces of dead skin. Similar in looks to that
