I have recently started using the Leatherique twins that I bought sometime last year.

Is there an issue with using The Rejuvenator oil and Pristine Clean on modern day leather seats that are coated from the factory (unlike those leathers from several decades ago)?

I am planning on using them at least two or three time a year on the same car and was wondering if there would be any negative side effects to the leather?

I have used it on coated leather. wasn't blown away by the results. You should only have to use the ro once maybe 2 times per year and use the pc for up keep. Keep the seats clean with a mild soap and water and that should suffice.I dont know if repeated use of the ro would break down the coating. Others I'm sure will chime in

The cleaner works extremely well even on coated leather, the rejuvinator is notable but I would not expect miracles. Most automobiles use finished leather, perhaps you'll like the Leathermasters line better.

How do you know for sure if it's coated or not?

I did my brother's '03 Lexus GS430 and put a good amount of the oil on the seats. It was extremely oily and shiny looking at the time. About 25 hours later I came back and most of the oil seemed to have worked into the leather and almost like there was no oil at all on the seats. It had to have penetrated into the hide. After using the PC the seats looked near brand new. So now I am wondering if they are coated at all.

Usually you can do a water test. If you take a drop of water and place it on the seat and you see a water spot, then it isn't finished leather. If it just sits as a bead, then the leather is coated.
