Pulled some winter toys out to get them cleaned up and pull some maint.

Products used:

Meguiars Soft Wash Gel
Meguiars Plastx
Meguiars Ultimate Black
Meguiar's Gold Class Liquid Wax
Duragloss 821 All Wheel Cleaner
Duragloss 221 Leather Conditioner
Griot's Orange Pad (old one in kinda rough shape)
Various mitts and microfibers

Oh, yeah, and Scrubbing Bubbles, of course.

I did one sled at a time. I hit the footboards and chassis with DG 821, and then rinsed the entire sled first. Then bucket washed with the Meg's Soft Gel and microfiber mitt. I don't know anything about this soap, but was a gift, and it's Megs, so that'll work fine. Then rinsed again, and blow dry with leaf blower (all day plane crash trying to hand dry all the crannies and stuff by hand).

Befores, dull and lifeless:

Then it was time to actually clean the plastic. For this, => Scrubbing Bubbles. This stuff is fantastic on textured plastic and vinyl surfaces. Spray a panel, then work the 'bubbles with an old orange Griot's pad. Then rinse. Unbelievable how much more came out from that extra step. Fresh snow may be white, but I trailer uncovered, so I get a lot of crapola enroute each way. Finally, an overall rinse and blow dry with a leave blower.

After that, I hit the shiny plastic with some Meg's Plastx. I included a 50/50 shot of the 800s hood during this process.

The 800s yellow panel behind the seat is leather, so it got some DG 221.

For all of the textured plastic, and rubber bits, etc., I used Meg's Ultimate Black. I know, it says "black" in the name, but it's great on all the textured plastic regardless of color. Then the hoods were treated to Meg's Gold Class liquid wax (a hybrid I believe). So I dunno about bonding to the plastic surface and all that. What I do know is - It's shiney, it smells good, it feels good in general to wax yer stuff, and it does bead well and help snow to slide off the bodywork. All good enough for me.

As much as I would like to tackle polishing the aluminum tunnel, reality is that I simply won't be able to make that sort of time, at least not as far as I can see ahead, so the all-wheel cleaner, which did make a difference, will have to do.

In a coupla months, I'll (maybe) be thinkin' about all your Florida folks. Definitely if I get stuck, and wet. Not so much if it's trekkin' as usual.

I'm all new and whatnot here, but I'm gonna rant anyway.

I spent about 1/2 hour reading Mike's posts about Easy Thumbnails, how to go through the process of uploading pictures, copying links, etc. Now in other forums that I participate on, if you want a pic then you go and click on it in your computer, and it shows up in line and uploads with your post, etc. Full size, too. Takes nanoseconds.

Well, I am NOT ashamed to say I have about 2 hours into finally getting a handful of photos into this thread that are, obviously, too tiny to be of any use.

Man, I'm just stuck here. I resized to 800 wide using Easy Thumbnails, uploaded to something called a "gallery" (but I cannot figure out how to delete those and try again?) Created an album and uploaded again without resizing, and in there they are nice and visible. But when linked into this post? Pffft. I dunno. Album? Gallery? Never have been even ok in arts and crafts I guess.

But, I consider my self to be reasonably educated, I have a general belief that my various brain cells have crossed the void and made introductions, etc. Hell, for a day job I read and interpret the US Tax Code, structure multi-layer pass-through entities (damn well, too), and testify in court as an expert in various topics. But this? AGO, this process has thoroughly kicked my ass.

I don't know exactly how to post a link to the forum from my phone (other than probably going to the Internet), but there is a how to called " how to upload photos the auto geek way", I think it is currently about the 8th most recent on the how to articles, it has a YouTube vid, I found it helpful :)

Instead of uploading in members gallery, maybe you should start an album first...to upload your photos to (in).

Nice. I am going to have to get my sleds out soon. I have an 08 Yamaha Nytro RTX. That gets a similar treatment every pre-season.
