Buffed and polished and waxed and I'm seeing light web scratchs only at night up really close in the day time up close it looks fine.
Light web scratchs?? Help.

You need an inspection light.
Without inspecting your results while your polishing, your guessing and assuming that there gone.
You see the defects in the picture, without that light, and I only do one section pass, without inspecting it afterwards you are completely guessing and assuming there gone.
Sometimes you need 2-3 section passes to remove them all.
Another reason why the inspection light is needed, you need to see if you are being aggressive enough to actually remove all of them.

I'm used a To makita buffer but I tried my new boss is it a bit longer in process using a orbital?

It all depends how good you are with the makita.
Some people, need to do 3 steps to get good results with a rotary, as with a dual action polisher, you can do it in 2 steps.
The dual action polishers don't install hologram swirl marks either.
Da's are actually alot safer, and less cruel to the paint but super effective.
I use the Boss system and achieve flawless results.
What pad and polish pad are you using ?

Might be your polishing pad, try a light to med pad for final finish.

I used the boss microfiber pad with p&s extra cut and then perfecting pad with perfecting to finish it off. It looked really good in the daylight but when I saw the night light on it I was surprised on how much there was left. There really fine scratches. Maybe just more time and a new light set up. Any suggestions on good stand lighting?
Need more cutting and patience.
Im with you on that,rotary punches and knocks swirls out very quickly,but then you have to repeat to get the halo out with a pc or orbital.some situations you can just use the long throw,it depends on paint condition and hardness and most importantly the time allowable to give the finished product back to the customer in a timely manner.sometimes you can split the tool.use the rotary on hood and trunk then redo whole car with long throw.Your doing double work but the swirls will be gone.Im not a buffer guy who has to buy the latest and greatest,at the end of the day you get the same results.
