Locations appropriate for detailers, and California zoning laws?

Over the past few months I've given a lot of thought to whether I should be a mobile business, or bootstrap it out of my parking garage space in my condo building. The other option, of course, being a small warehouse space. I'm leaning towards the later option, so I'll have a place where I can control the lighting and a quiet place where I won't be bothered or inconvenience people with vacuum, extractor and polisher noise.

2200 square foot warehouse with office

There are lots of ads like this on CL, but they of course say "No auto repair or auto dealer". Do detailing businesses violate the "no auto repair" rule?

Should any warehouse space be OK for a detailer?
 
yes it's all the same. as in no auto work. period. Just go mobil. no shop and you work at some nice houses too!
