Hi all,

I have a new car, and wanting to "protect" it as long as possible.

I don't mind too much about "color enhancement" that carnauba does... more into "longest lasting" protection.

1) Lasts the longest between re-applications (1-2x per year)
2) Longest durability (harder to remove between washes)
3) Hydrophobic properties (ehh... don't care too much)

** I have a TON of Meguiars Xpress Synthetic wax to use (2 gallons)
** I plan on waterless wash my car 1-2x per month

So... which synthetic sealant do you think will last the longest between applications?

EDIT
Oops... forgot to add "Adams Paint Sealant" to the poll!

Duragloss 111 is probably my longest lasting sealant.

Meguiar's M21 has become my most used sealant.

Rupes 808 impressed me a lot. Lasted through the winter! I only use it when I use the Rupes System though.

I also Use Opti-Seal, but need to do some more long term testing with it.

Two that you missed- and I'd put both up against the ones you mentioned.
- Menzerna Powerlock
- Duragloss 111/601

X2 on the Finish Kare 1000P--so far on my daily driver it's been on 8 months and still performing almost like day one and no etching from bird bombs sitting on the car for days or etching from water marks.

I've used a gaggle of different sealants and Duragloss 105 by far was the best at meeting your criteria.

From those on your list, I've only used Klasse. One coat will get you 5~6 months through winter. Two coats will easily last much longer.

I'd also add Collinite 845 if you are looking for something reasonably priced and very durable.

duragloss 105/601 combo is hands-down the most durable sealant you can buy from market. if you really follow the instructions and combo 105 with 601 perfectly you will get close to a year. I don't think any other sealant comes near to that point. some coatings, although claimed to last up to 1 year or so, even fail earlier than 105/601.

However, if you use 105 alone, at least to me, it seems the longevity is quite compromised. I will say a few months, which is still impressive.

FK1000p and DG 105 are tops on my list. I've used both for many years in the worse NE winters. They also both look great. I've actually gone from coatings back to FK1000p. Yeah, you read that right

I love Meguiars ultimate Wax....which is really a sealant. I put in on in the spring and fall and still have solid beading after a midwest winter.

Ah yes, that's a good one too.

I think you need to put Collinite 476 on the list.

Collinite #476 or DG #111
