Hey, what's up AGO? So today I was called to detail a 2014 stingray. Everything initially went as planned until I was asked to polish a few raw aluminum(butt naked) parts in the engine bay. The goal was to remove some hard water spots from the super charger, it's pipes and the alternator... I threw every aluminum/chrome polish I had in my van at these parts and neither would/could touch or remove the water spots. Basically all I ended up with was shinny aluminum with shinny water spots. Let's see, I tried mother polishs, shine supply's polish and 3m's polish with no luck.

What else can I do to achieve water spot "free" aluminum?

You may need something abrasive like super fine cut steel wool - then polish it out after you've removed the water spots. It's extremely tedious and time consuming though to achieve good results.
