So, I've been a BlackFire One Step fan for the past 5 years and my supply has been used up. I typically perform a paint correction annually on the cars and use Sonax BSD as a topper after every few washes. That combo has been fantastic for me. The only downside to that regimen is the BSD, too grabby on application, but I've continued using it since it is so hydrophobic, never seen anything like this before.

All In One - I'm in South Florida. Looking to use annually. Cars are garage kept, 2 are silver so hide imperfections easily. 3rd car is a dark blue GR 86, that is kept in a parking garage at college for now, still in Florida. Only gets washed every 6-8 weeks when my son visits. So he needs durable protection more so than the other 2 cars.

Topper - I used to like to apply the BSD after every other wash, but realized it was unnecessary, been applying on an as needed basis, when I think the performance starts to diminish, every 3rd or 4th wash. IMO the BSD is akin to a sealant and keeps the dirt, grime and contaminants away from the paint. With the GR86 at college, I've been applying the BSD after every other wash or so, afraid that I may may get build up if I use too often, especially on the dark color. I realy need durable protection on the GR.

I like availabilty and simplicity, with good, even better than average results. I've been considering GG Ceramic AIO or the Liquid Wax 3-in-1. But is there a robust topper for GG products? I like the simplicity and availability of Meguiars products, and they just work, but unsure of the durability. I used their simple Cleaner Wax for about 20 years before stepping up to BF. Reading a bit about Collinite and 3D... but I'm not sold... not sure why, but for some reason I'm running into the pause button on these.

So... recommendations? Something that will work comparably as my current regimen? Something that performs as well as the BSD but easier to apply? Or should I stick with my current process?

As I write this, I remembered that I took a video a couple of month ago when I washed the GR in January, looking back at it, the BSD was performing remarkably on this dirty car, except for the doors which were covered with road grime.

You can put a layer of Griot's Ceramic 3-in-1 on top of the Ceramic AIO. As well as using Ceramic Speed Shine and Ceramic Wash & Coat with it. From what I've heard, I would think Blackfire would have more correction ability but I haven't personally used it.

Sonax ceramic AIO, Sonax ceramic spray coating, maintain with Sonax ultra slick detailer

Based on your description, I’d use a primer polish (Gyeon Primer, CarPro Essence, Dr Beasley NSP95, etc) and top with Cancoat EVO.

This was the result I had Saturday with…

3D Speed
Flex 3401
LC Force Hybrid Orange

3 section passes with slow arm speed. F250 crew cab done in under two hours.

Smells good, works fast, and removes so easy I often grin with delight while I work. Forget all the other brands. 3D’s got the AIO mastered.

^ there ya go.

That's been exactly my approach on several 1 step customers.

I like the BF for ease of removal as well.

What would be a good topper for the 3D Speed? Durable and hydrophobic...

Any thing from Duragloss

I like 101.

If I don't need the correction potential of 3D Speed or 505, 101 is great, and it holds up longer than any cleaner wax I've used to date.

Sounds like you correct then apply an LSP. My new favorite combo is 3D One, thorough panel wipes and CanCoat Evo ceramic. Trouble free for 10 months to a year!

Yes... BF One Step (once yearly) followed by Sonax BSD, once every 2-3 washes. But looking for a change.

3D One seems too aggressive for me, maybe even 3D Speed.
I looked at the Sonax AIO and the label seems to indicate an agressive cut as well.

Made up my mind to search and watch some YouTube over the next few weeks to see what other users have experienced. And I'll probably do some more reading on this board as well. I think I got my work cut out for me.

Those aren’t too aggressive but if you don’t need any correction ability and you’re just looking for max gloss and to clean the paint, one I’ve used in the past is P21S Gloss Enhancing Paintwork Cleanser. That is a very fine polish with minimal correcting ability but high gloss. CarPro Essence with a white gloss pad could also be used.

No need to worry about polishing car paint a few dozen times with foam pads at least. So your talking over 10 years. With today's polishes you only need 2-4 passes.
