Hey Guys,

Do you have a strong connection with any Mitsubishi Dealership? I was "suppose" to have done a clear bra on the paint and headlights today to a brand new one, BUT, the dealership he was buying from, this is a very rare Evo, blew the motor today before my client even saw the vehicle. Can you tell my client was/is a lil ticked? He was about to drive off in a brand new 2010 Lancer Evolution MR Touring.

So, if you have any very strong point of contacts with a Mitsubishi Dealership, please let me know ASAP!!!!!

If he hasn't taken ownership then they just blew the motor on their own car. If he's actually signed papers but hasn't driven it off the lot then I'd call the bank or a lawyer.....

Of course he has not driven the Evo. They has to ship it down from Michigan to Deep South Texas. He had not even seen it and the dealership (here) called him yesterday afternoon and advised him they blew the engine since they did not put synthetic oil into it. He did advise the dealership he will take legal action if nothing happens by Monday.

He just wants a darn Mits Evo and this person is an adult that makes some nice money.

Even though a manufacturer recommends Synthetic oil over conventional oil, a motor will not just blow by using conventional motor oil. This is just another BS line by a scumbag dealership becuase one of their employees took out a rare performance car, overrev'd the motor and it came apart....

I'd avoid this car and that stealership like the plague!

Of course. Companies down here just do not know how to do business. There are only 2 Mits dealerships down here and they are the same owners. Go figure. I have a friend who owns an '05 Evo and the dealership messed his vehicle up before as well. With all of the Dealership connections that I have down here, and in the state, I will have the problem solved sometime today.

Stephen,

Unfortunately, car dealerships have gained the long standing, well deserved reputation being the biggest lairs and swindlers of any profession, well maybe layers and politicians top them but the race is too close to call.

Their tactics are taught in training classes and their primary goal is to sell you any car for the highest price. There is very little they won't say or do to complete the sale except for being honest.

They overcharge for repairs, charge you for repairs you don't need, charge you for repairs they don't even make!

"I've got just the car for you"
"Trust me"
"We'll take care of you"
"I'm fighting to get you the best deal"

Again, I know all of this. My grandpartents use to own a Ford Dealership for over 25 years until my grandmother sold the place the last day of 1988. My dad is still a main manager at a Ford Lincoln Mercury Dealership down here. I only bought one vehicle from him, back in 2002, when my surgery and rehabilitaion was done. I could not stand the new vehicle I bought from him and traded it in, 8 months later, for a new 2003.5 Infiniti G35 Sport Sedan. I'm a person who does not put up with BS and the dealerships know it. That is how I know so many dealerships here in South Texas. LOL All is on very good and strong terms, of course. :props:

I will be contacting dealerships in California, Floriday and Michigan today looking for such an Evo.

Check out South Coast Mitsubishi out of California. They sell the most evolutions by volume in the world, and usually have such great prices, that even after shipping it's cheaper then buying local. They also have 15 Evo MR Touring's in stock right now.

I've got a 2010 Evolution GSR, and however long he has to wait, it's worth it. One of those cars you can't help but smile everytime you drive it.

so if you have "connections" why even ask... is it just to show off that you have "connections".....

Because I have "connections" to most other automobile brands. Mitsubishi is one that I do not have connections with. There are only 2 Mitsubishi Dealerships down here and they are the same company. There are no certified dealerships for Mitsubishi, Subaru and Mazda down here in Deep South Texas. Heck. There is not even a place that knows how to tune Japanise Vehicles here. If it were a 4x4 truck or American made muscle vehicles, then, there are just a few places here that can do that kind of work.

This part of the state sits right next door to Mexico. All we have down here are drug cartel this and drug cartel that. Fun huh? nope

Why did the dealer touch the oil? Sounds like a whole lotta BS here. A new car comes with factory fill oil from the plant. The dealer doesn't touch it. The porter driving it off the truck probably took it for a "friendly" spin around the block. Putting conventional in is not going to spontaneously blow the engine.

Stephen,

It doesn't appear that you have a reasonable option near you so how about contacting someone at the Corporate Headquarters?

Just a suggestion...

Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America Inc - Corporate Headquarters - Cypress, California - (714)372-6000, LocalCarsDealers.com

I'm waiting to hear back from my client. The Dealership is trying to do something about the issue at this time. My client advised them they have till Monday. I told my client that I was going to hold off on doing anything until he gets his answer from the dealership.

The new Evo did not even have 2 miles on it. When they are built in Japan and shipped to the US, they will not have any oil or fluids in the engine. The dealership, here, did a dealership transfer from a dealer in Michigan. It was transported down here to this dealership. The Dealership in Michigan did nothing to the Evo. Everything inside the car and outside the car still had all of the plastic wrappings on it. My client told the dealership down here to leave everything on the outside of the vehicles paint since I was going to clear bra it.

This car had not been driven.

If the car had any miles on it, it's been driven. Even if it's just onto the boat/off the boat/to the port it's been driven, which mean it had fluids in it.

Yes. some. very small amounts just to keep the engine lubed till it arrived to its dedicated dealership.

Other than that, I do not know what to say until I have contacted a dealer directly about such an issue.

I will have the problem solved sometime today.

  • You know someone that was in the process of purchasing a vehicle
  • Prior to taking delivery the vehicle engine was blown
What is it exactly that you are going to do to fix the situation?

I mean, it would seem pretty simple that:
#1 he doesnt take delivery of this vehicle
#2 IF he still wants the same make/model/trim the dealer locates exactly what he wants from dealers across the nation just like they did to locate this one.

Am I missing something?
