I’ve come across a few posts regarding low gloss or matte finish tire dressings. But they are a couple years old and was hoping to find something more current to date. I had the most success with optimum optibond tire dressing and it would be amazing on my weekly washed car but when I would go do a customers car after thoroughly cleaning the rubbers, the dressing would bond properly and look splotchy. But that was also after I diluted it myself into a spray bottle about a year ago so since then I’ve just been using meguiars endurance tire gel but don’t like the shiny finish.

I am a big fan of Meguiar's D170 Hyper Dressing. You can obtain the finished look on the tires by diluting it however you want. I like a finish somewhere between matte and shiny so I dilute it to get the exact result I want.

Looks good just like I like it, but the problem is after one good rain, its gone.
Great for engine dressing, but not exterior.

What’s the dilution for that finish?!

Fellas, one thing is when I used optimum, I was dispense right from the gallon bottle onto a applicator and this caused some product loss by spilling so then I put it in a smaller bottle and it would last for weeks and look good through rain and snow. But when I started diluting with water it didn’t stick as well. But I’m open to all suggestions.

1.) No more dispensing it from the gallon
bottle onto an applicator
2.) Don’t ever dilute it with water when
being used as a tire dressing

Sorry, I don't remember the ratio I began with however I just add water or product to get the desired look I want.
