Finally decided to start some real correction on my LR3. It's a DD that gets beaten up in a parking lot and has been off road. 100% correction isn't the goal. It polishes up well with an orange or yellow pad - all the shallow scratches come out easily. The deeper scratches are tough. Honestly not sure if it's medium or hard paint - don't have enough experience. It seems a lot less hard then Boxster paint, but was also hard to correct deeper scratches, so I don't know.

After trying a few different combos (LC orange and yellow flat pads, Megs UP, Adapt, Griots Fast Cream) M105) with a Megs MF pad did the best job correcting quickly. More surprising, the 105 didn't' dust and wasn't nearly as hard to remove when I use the Megs pad. Could be I wasn't over working it or did something else differently. What had been a struggle suddenly got much easier.

Not saying this is the best combo and not suggesting people move to M105, which I generally don't like. But on my LR3 paint, with my GG6, and my skills, and at standard temperature and pressure, this combo seemed to work better than others. As expected it didn't finish great and I'll have to following up with UP or another polish.

Will get some before/after pics posted before I get it finished.

You got me....

And I always think I know all or at least most of the acronyms....

LR3 = Land Rover

Cool rigs, went and looked at a few recently for a daily driver.

I've only worked on a few brand new models and found the paint to be more on the hard side than the soft or medium side.

:)

Sorry about that. LR3 is the model of Land Rover. In Europe it's called a Discovery 4. Thanks for the confirmation on the paint.

Imo, the last box shaped and relatively reliable Rover we're likely to see. Has some modern conveniences but still retains the old Rover lines. Unless they come out with the rumored new Defender, the boxy ones are gone.
