I saw a scratch today so I used m105 with a foam pad. I did this by hand. Now when I look at it with the Brinkmann I see some semi holograms or swirls.

Is this even possible since I used my hand?

:xyxthumbs:

Yes. The abrasives in 105 are quite harsh. If you put some on your hand and rub it you can feel the gritt.

Plus, applying by hand isn't as uniform of an application in comparison to a machine with a pad. That's why you are probably seeing exaggerated marring.

Did you follow with a less aggressive finishing polish like M205?

No, not yet. I will use 205 and then maybe sf4500 (PO85RD).

Used some M205 and it did the job. Just didn't know that M105 could leave marring when used by hand.

Thanks

The clear coat on the car must have been soft. I used M105 by hand in some spots and no marring was present.

Yea, it's my car and it's a 2007 Honda. I think the paint is actually butter it's so soft. I have to use PO85RD after M205 when using a DA.

Have you tried skipping the ? 4500 works well after 105 on my hard Audi paint.

What did you ask if I skipped?

My process I did awhile ago was 105, 205, PO85RD.

It was in a body shop and had holograms all over it so that's one of the reasons I used 105.
