Is this a viable pad/polish combination? Car mama won't let me buy anything right now and I have:

Yellow Cutting Pad
Orange Cutting Pad
Green Pad
Red Pad
Black Pad
Gold Pad

All pads are LC CCS 5.5

I want to do a one step with 205 or Possibly SF4500. Car I'm gonna do has very very little swirls and no deep scratches

I just think the green pad is the most viable option to finish

Why not perform a test spot to definitively tell you what is most viable. Guessing which pad and polish on an internet forum will get you less than ideal results. Too many variables to blindly guess. Only you can determine what combo satisfies your expectations.

Thanks. Going I'll test green and orange

I think it all depends on what needs to be done as I have seen people use MF pads with M205 to take out some nasty swirls.

I wouldn't hesitate to try M205 with a green LC pad.

If the car is in good shape as you describe....why not try SF4500 with the black finishing pad 1st?

If that does not work, do another separate Test Spot with M205 and 2nd Black CCS Pad.

Also, the Red CCS has less cut than the Black, although neither has much at all...it will be the M205 doing all of the work

As I'm still sort of a noob here, I didn't think that we could use polishes with the wax/glaze pads due to them having very little to no cutting ability. Interesting thought though. Might as well lead off with that to go least aggressive

BINGO!

That's always the best way. Test spots ARE your friend.

I've used the green pad for that type of polish on numerous occasions. SwirlX, Ultimate Polish, and TW Premium Grade Polishing Compound to be exact. I prefer it to the white because it contours to the different shapes I'm polishing. I just got some pink CCS pads that I'd like to try with my heavier compounds. Up until now the green and blue Hex Logics have been my favorite pad combination.
