Somethin different this time guys.
We've been asking each other when in the world is the city going to take down the Christmas decorations, like good Lord, it's January.
Well come to find out....
Tyler Perry is shooting a new Madea's Christmas movie and part of it is in my little town.
I eat lunch at a home cooking place up on the square sometimes so went up there today to see what all the hoopla was about. OMG!!!
They've changed some store fronts and actually painted a number of them (which I'm sure the property owners didn't mind a bit! Don't know who all is in the thing, but it's been said that Larry The Cable Guy will be. :dunno:
They've been shooting for a couple of days and shooting will end tonight (I think). It's been good for the city. Lots of visitors just gawking and taking photos. The "big shoot" will be in the wee hours tonight, starting at 2:00 or so and I guess running till almost sunrise. It they'll wait till tomorrow night we are getting freezing rain/sleet/snow that'd be GREAT for a Christmas movie.
As I was sitting eating lunch today I noticed news trucks like EVERYWHERE. I mean, from several states and I was thinking what in the world would the be here for just to look at the town square while a movie isn't even shooting. Then I noticed that one of the news vans said "Bucktussles #1 News"! WHAT????????
Remember Beverly Hillbillies and Hooterville? They were sometimes both on the same show, and besides Hooterville there was a town Bugtussle, CLOSE ENOUGH I figure.
Anyhow, I shot these with my phone, take a look. Then look at the wheel photos. All of the "news vans" (props for the movie), the cop car, everything had this 'special' option on top of the left front tire.
Good thing they were in my little city rather than downtown Atlanta or it'd be more like "where in the he!! did all the vehicles go!"
Madea gets coaxed into helping a friend pay her daughter a surprise visit in the country for Christmas, but the biggest surprise is what they'll find when they arrive. As the small, rural town prepares for its annual Christmas Carnival, new secrets are revealed and old relationships are tested while Madea dishes her own brand of Christmas Spirit to all.
