Need some thoughts from the forum. I recently bought the original version of the paint correction towel that replaces the claybar. I was told that it is a little harsh out of the gates and to use it on car windows first to break it in. I did that and it still scratched my son's clearcoat.Tried two diff. lubes, and rinsed it contantly. Is this normal breakin, and will smooth out? I lost confidence in it and can't risk it on a client's car. Any tricks you folks know of?

No tips or tricks for preventing marring as clear coats paints are scratch-sensitive right out of the gate, this means that while they are harder than traditional single stage paints, they still scratch very easily.

For this reason I recommend and practice myself doing at least one-machine polishing step after doing any type of mechanical decontaminating of the paint.

:)
