This man is a true American hero, not only is he a Hero to Americans, he is a hero to all oppressed Europeans under the iron grip of the Nazi's. He is a hero to freedom!

God Bless you Major Winters. I will be praying for you!

Just think, His generation was the generation that knew that 3 out of 4 men were not going to come home when they stormed the beach. They did it anyways, they will always be the greatest American generation and they are all leaving us one by one. Be great and donate to your local Honor Tour. Lets let these boys have one last great memory by sending them to D.C.

God Bless America!

An amazing life's story!! He was an excellent leader and tactician.

A few years back, I worked at a place where my immediate supervisor was Major Richard Winters' next door neighbor. I never had the pleasure of meeting him personally but did enjoy many stories that he had shared with my supervisor. A true American Hero for sure.

Later in my life while being promoted to a leadership position with a different company, the plant manager pulled me into his office and handed me the entire Band of Brothers DVD collection and instructed me to watch them all and to pay particular attention to Major Richard Winters' style in leadership skills. What I saw while watching the DVDs was organization, courage and humility.

I still thank that plant manager for that piece of homework to this day. There is a lot to be learned by watching that series.

A prayer of thanks and gratitude goes out to him and to all of our American soldiers.

the disc set is well worth the $100! Really well done and tasteful.

Explains the war from Jump school to the everyday board um of sitting in a fox hole.

This mans generation is one of many reasons why this country is so great.

R.I.P. Major Winters

BTW, the boxset isn't $100 anymore, you can get it on BluRay for like $50 now. I highly recommend it, I bought it about 5 or 6 years ago and continue to watch it to this day. One of the greatest movies/mini-series ever made.

(About the Band of Brothers miniseries)

Really well done and tasteful. Explains the war from Jump school to the everyday board um of sitting in a fox hole. This mans generation is one of many reasons why this country is so great.

I always thought it was twice as long as it needed to be, but a great history lesson and tribute to "The Greatest Generation". I always found one of the most moving parts to be at the end when they interviewed some of the people portrayed, and the tremendous modesty as Winters relates how his grandkids asked him if he was "a hero in the war" and his answer was "no, but I served in the company of heroes".

If you liked the mini-series, read the book by the late Stephan Ambrose. He interviewed thousands of WWII vets and compiled their stories into at least 3 amazing books, Band of Brothers, D-Day and Citizen Soldiers. If you only read one, read Citizen Soldiers. God bless you Major Winters and I will take comfort knowing you are reunited with many of your brothers from Easy Co.!

Rest in peace Major Winters.
I remember when I bought this couple years ago and I sat with my father and watched the whole thing in 2 sittings. Winters was a great leader that made this company different others. They were the first paratrooper and Winters made sure that the company was ready.

What a great story of a great man!! And all the men who gave it all!!
Rest in peace Major Winters!!

A true hero in every sense of the word.

RIP Major Winters

A true American Hero.
Such and awesome series that not only shows WWII, but the sacrifices and leadership of this great nation. #### could have really mad a killing selling his story, doing interviews, but he did Band of Brothers only so people can have the true story of the war. He was an amazing leader and role model. RIP
