Making first purchase from autogeek

Well after much readying and attempting 1 detailing which I think came out well im going to go ahead and order some cleaning stuff and would like some opinions and suggestions.

My car is a 2010 Land Rover LR4 HSE LUX w/ Ipanema Sand paint, it seems like its not the best paint for getting "pop" but it also does not show dirt either. So here is what it looks like now:

That is after:

Meguiar Gold Class wash
Clay Bar w/ Meguiar mist and wipe detailer
Rain - X wax (shhh)

I really want to try putting 2 coats of sealer and a coat of wax that will make it look "wet".

Products im going to purchase (unless u can convince me other wise)

- Sonax Daytona Jr. Wheel Combo
- Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze 16.9 oz.
- Klasse ALL-IN-ONE Polish 10 oz.
- Ultima Tire & Trim Guard Plus
- Collinite Liquid Insulator Wax #845 Includes Two FREE Wax Applicators!

How does that sound as a start? I will be applying all by hand...

Honestly, those Klasse products are good, but they are a little finicky. I would try a different AIO, like Optimum Poli-Seal or Duragloss 501. There's also that new Blackfire AIO, but I haven't used that. Then just top that with 845.
 
What about the glaze? My under standing was 2 layers of aio and 1 glaze then top with wax?
 
The Klasse Sealant Glaze is an LSP...you would do one application of KAIO and 2 of KSG. What I'm saying is that the Klasse products are finicky, if you don't apply them thin enough they are very difficult to remove. I suggested some easier to use AIO's which you can then top with your wax. If you want to put a sealant on top of the AIO before you wax, an easy one is Opti-Seal or one of the other WOWA's.
 
Well I clayed the car last weekend and its been in my garage since (I don't actually drive the car =P)...

Ill look into some of those other AIO and Glazes. Im just trying to find some product which I can apply by hand.

For the above, what you're basically doing is using the AIO as a paint cleaner. You could just use a regular, or "dedicated" paint cleaner and then apply a finishing wax.

The duragloss #501 is a marine product? Those are safe to use on cars? I actually have a whole line of maguiars marine stuff from the boat... im pretty sure I have the polish.

A lot of us use 501 on our cars, I can't speak to doing that with the Meg's Marine line.
 
Since you're doing this by hand the DG501 makes allot of sense as mentioned by others. Then top it with 845 or DG 111--looks great on light colored metallics with minimal effort.

Another option is Megs Ultimate Liquid Wax--very easy to use, great gloss and has some filling capabilities of fine swirls.

Wheels:
- Sonax Wheel Cleaner + Jr Daytona brush
- Meguiar Quick detailer mist and spray

Plastic trim / Bumper plastic:
- Ultima Tire & Trim Guard Plus

Exterior body panels:
- Wash: Meguiar Gold Class
- Clay: GG Yellow clay with Meguiar mist and wipe
- Polish / Sealant: Duragloss 501
- Wax: Collinite 845

A lot of opinions you will get here!:

-I find the regular Daytona Brush much more useful than the Jr, especially on truck wheels. While its nice to have both, if I was only going to order one, I would get the regular size (assuming you don't already have it)

- Meg's Gold Class Soap is just OK IMO. AG sells so many great soaps, why not get something different. Soaps from Chemical Guys, 1Z, Dodo Juice, Sonax, Duragloss, and Optimum are all better IME.
 
Can all soaps be used in a foam gun? I figured I'll run through my bottle of gold class before getting something different

How does my water beading look?
I used Maguiar marine pure wax and apply by hand...

Yes, but it's too thick to use straight. I usually dilute it 1:3 with water and use the middle hole on the foam gun.
 
Is it weird I woke up at 630am thinking " I wonder how that marine was will look??!!" And went and applied it to my hood...
 
Is that how water is suppose to bead off? I'm use to it forming little dots but those just ran off with out a trace hah
