I assumed it would be easy to get the genuine Makita 5” Backing Velcro Pad # 197923-2 in the UK. Sadly its not available, nor can one order it from Makita UK.
Both Makita UK and USA say its an identical m/c voltage and plugs aside, so safe to run.
The suppliers the US recommended want between $40 to $59 for the part and between $120 and $199 shipping to the UK.
utter madness prices.
So I had an idea ... if anyone in the US wants a 6” backing pad, then I buy you one here and ship it ( cheap shipping not expidited) and when it arrives you buy me one of the PO5000Cs and ship it to me.
any takers?
I have ordered a spare 6” one just to make sure its the right one. As I want a genuine Makita part, I am reciprocating by buying only from an authorised Makita dealer or “Amazon sold and shipped direct” i.e. NOT via one of their flakey resellers selling chinese clones ( I want that comfort ).
Just looking into shipping costs, surely it cant be that expensive!
open to any ideas?
