Maryland Business license

Ive just started to look into est. a true business. Before I start calling places I was wondering if anyone is MD or anyone that knows. Do I need to get a business license? My research so far seems to be pointing to no. Detailing is a service industry and I cant find anything even remotely close to it doing my search for licensing. I wont be selling any products.
Is this pretty common that you dont need a license?

I just got mine in Missouri.

Since I'm not selling product they didn't give me a tax ID. Seems to be the only thing different from most business licenses.

It only cost me 20 bucks here.
