matching old paint to new paint job

The whole driver side of my 11 year old Tundra was painted after a hit and run accident. The passenger side is noticably older paint. The guy that did my body work told me he waxed the passenger side and the only way it would match would be to paint it as well. Would polishing and waxing that side help with the mismatch? THANKS!

Sometimes on darker finishes.Theres been one or two instances I was called to polish out adjoining panels before painting because of oxidation.

I should have specified the color is black.

Black may be hard to match. Try to polish it and see how close you can get it.

If he is a good painter and followed the formulation by the color code black is not that big of a deal,honestly I think he is blowing smoke.
