So I have tried a few different waxes on my car and none have completely satisfied. Souveran muted my metal flake too much, P21S had lackluster durability, Megs #26 worked ok but I felt dirty topping my car with a $12 wax. So I finally decided to pick up some Max Wax at the recommendations of many forum members. I have AIO then Wolfgang DGPS under the wax. Photos are somewhat inconsistent due to the intermittent cloud cover.

Application: Used my Wolfgang polishing pal with a grey pad. Just hit each side of the pad with a quick swipe from the wax. Then applied in 3x3' area to ensure even coverage. Wiped off after 5-10 seconds.

Packaging/Smell: The container is kinda iffy. I can't get my top on the first 2-3 times I try, it just hangs up. Smells like a carnauba wax, nothing amazing, but still a classic smell.

Ease of use: Super easy to use, very similar to Souveran. Maybe just a little harder wipe off but I could barely tell the difference. Removed with a Cobra indigo towel

Looks: Awesome to say the least. I wanted a wax that would add shine and depth but not mute my metal flake. The metal flake is super fine and the car changes shades of blue depending upon the lighting. Anyone at detail-fest will be able to see that. Reflection and gloss is stunning almost on par with Souveran.

Overall: Like all my other DP products I was very impressed. It worked exactly as advertised, maybe even better, and the results compared to price cannot be beat. This is definitely my wax of choice for my vehicle from now on, with Souveran taking a back seat. At $29 this wax leaves nothing to be desired.

You need to save those for the show and shine month with DP!!!

What I noticed with waxes that are really deep and wet like Natty's Blue or Souveran is they darken the pain in a good way but both mute flake. Wax Max, Collinite 915, Sig Series etc seem to pop flake more. On some cars like our silver Lincoln, I kinda like the muted flake looks as it gives the silver a deeper/wetter appearance, I know others would want it to look bright and flakier, but I actually have 915 on it now since I wanted something durable as I have little time to detail.

Try AW on top of Max Wax if you want, AW makes flake pop like hell as well. Even my bumpers are painted monotone to match the lower body cladding, with AW on them I can see lots of flake and reflections.

I do have some AW that I will probably put on top in the next day or two. I'll have to see if it makes the color any darker, I don't think it will. I was going to try Sig Series II, but my wallet decided that Max Wax would be a better value.

Told ya so!

Kidding. I'm sorry but I can't say enough about this wax. Best hidden gem out there to me.

Car looks good. Can't wait to me you bro!

Yeah, Justin you are pretty much the most outspoken fan of Max Wax and the whole DP line. I value your opinion and you always seem to get great results.

I hold you responsible for this: lol

I agree, I love Max Wax :). I use it instead of Natty's Blue since NB seems to have a nasty habit of attracting a LOT of dust... I don't have that issue at all with MW.

Car looks great; keep up the good work the car looks better everytime...

^ I believe that picture is one of the pictures that helped me decide to go with Max Wax. That and there was a picture of a metallic H2 that helped too.

Yep have to agree Max Wax made that car look wet without reducing the flake pop, awesome job!!!

Justin, you to have made me a DP addict, I will post up soon what I have been able to get my hands on here in Oz.

Sig Series by Pinnacle is also a great choice for metallics. Its the polymers in Max Wax and Sig Series that amply or reflect the metallics, not necessarily that Souveran is muting them.

a beauty - wow. i love the reflections in the hood.
that is an awesome blue!!!
