I'm still waiting for an ultra-hard, unscratchable paint that I can take through swirl-o-matics and get it decently clean with little effort, when when I get bugs stuck on or tar stuck on, I can just scrub to my hearts content with a scrub brush! And no scratches!

Lots of high end technologies start out with defense, then move to high end vehicles, then consumer grade vehicles. Like GPS, for example. Was developed for the military and was 'top secret' technology, then became available in very large, expensive 'portable' units and eventually in high end luxury cars. Now you can get touch-screen navigation in a Ford Fiesta!
