I just tried my new mculloch steamer 1375 and it is only sputtering water, not spraying smoothly. Help?

I have a 1385 and it doesn't just sputter water it does sputter some with the steam. I just figured it's to be expected with a cheaper low pressure steamer. The first one I ordered did it so I sent it back and same thing. I just put a piece of a old white Hanes t-shirt over the end and it helped a lot. McCulloch said it was normal.

Oh thanks I was thinking of getting one .

I had the 1275 sold it after the first use. A complete joke. I'm not sure about the 1375 but the 1275 is next to useless.

Is it supposed to be spraying water or not? It's loud as #### and it doesn't really shoot water but water does puddle on the tile floor I'm testing it on... If I don't spray it for a couple minutes then spray it, a steady stream of water comes out and then goes back to sputtering.

Very dissapointed if this is broken already

The stream after letting it sit for a few minutes is normal for a steamer.

It is caused by the steam in the hose cooling and reverting to its liquid state.

A decent steamer should not sputter water.

So it's NOT supposed to be shooting water at all? I was under the impression that it was supposed to shoot water which is why I thought mine might be messed up.

I'll try and put a vid up of mine tomorrow. Like I said mine doesn't sputter a crap load of water but there is for sure a small bit that comes out with the steam. I still think $199.00 mine works awsome.

Yeah that's what mine is doing too.

Lmao😂

@Based. Like AGOatemywallet said, it will spit out a little bit of water if left unattended for a short amount of time between use.. But as far as sputtering water after that, and while it's full steam ahead, that doesn't sound normL to me... I have a McCulloch 1275, which is the cheaper version of the 1 you have and mine doesn't do that.

I imagine if it's doing what you're describing it might lead to saturation of a seat or carpet, which is a huge PITA result. Too bad you didn't buy it at the store or you could've taken it back for exchange by now.

my 1375 sputters for a second or 2 if I let it sit for a while during use but quickly starts shooting out a steady plume of steam.

I have the 1385 and it works great for what it is.

It's normal to spew out some water the first few seconds, then just steam should come out.

Are you allowing enough time for it to heat up properly?

Is the dial on the handle fully open for full steam?

Have you called their customer service?

Mine too spits a little water out when you first use it after sitting. After that, no problems. If it's shooting water I'm guessing it's not hot enough.

Not too sure if this helps I have to non commercials units (not to mention brands on forum) but if I over fill with water I get the sputtering feedback as well. but on both they will sputter (water & steam) first few seconds on start up.

Guys, this has been sorted out. I finally got to use my steamer today and it is fine. I was just under the impression that the steamer was supposed to be shooting water. It does shoot water if its been sitting but that's just for a second and then it is pure steam.

See my attachment ;).
