Meg APC Dilution question for a noob

Hi. I just recieved my APC by Meg from AG. On the back they state for example 10:1 for heavy soiled. Does this mean its 10 parts of Apc or 10 parts water?

I always thought the first number was the water ratio.

It is 10 parts water to 1 part APC.

If you get the Megs APC bottles it has the dilution ratios and the fill lines, making it real easy to mix and less messy.

Great thread. Math has always been one of my strong suits, I use algebra every day at work and often have to help my co-workers with calculations, but I have some APC plus on the way And I probably would have had to think for a minute once I get everything.

Now I'm only thinking that I should have ordered two labeled bottles so I could have more than one strength.

That is what I did. One with 10-1 and one with 4-1, then grabbed my label maker and labeled the 4-1 Heavy Duty on the top portion of the bottle so I can see it on the shelf.

Mike, why didn't Meguiars make a note of where we are supposed to fill their bottles to? When I first got my bottles I looked all over for a fill line. I thought it would be on the neck but once I searched I found your post with pictures.

I don't know... even I was confused, that's why after finding out how myself I wrote a how-to article for everyone else...

I think meg should actually do this the other way around. I think you should add product first then water. Because lets say you add too much product over the fill line and it already has water in the bottle you can not place this back into the concentrated jug. If you add concentrate first and have a flub you can always pour the extra back into jug. Just my two cents...

I chose to mix my cleaners (with exception to Wheel Brightner and Glass Cleaner) to 7:1.....

28oz of water and 4oz of product, makes 32oz and to the bottom ring on neck, gives me that extra little bit of product.....

Works for me.....and a little more oomph in cleaning power.

I had a handy chart somewhere for 32oz bottles and mix what you want.

I think I mix Wheel Brightner 10:1 to make it mild at the suggestion of Joe@SuperiorShine.
