Meg's M-105 or Ultimate compound - which cuts better/faster

Just wondering,of the 2, which is more aggressive.Ive heard the 100 can be a bear to work with so I left it out of the comparison.

I'm a hobbyist, not a pro. Having said that I find M105 has more cut for tough jobs but is finicky to work with. UC is very easy to use, very flexible, and delivers great results, but to me ultimately has less cut than M105. If I can get away with UC I'll definitely use that. If it's not enough, I'll break out the "big guns" with M105. UC finishes better than M105 as well.

I've heard great thing about Griot's Fast Correcting Cream which I'll be trying soon. Truthfully if I can find something that cuts like M105 for tough jobs but is easier to use, I'll have moved on from M105.

I was under the impression UC was in between M105 and M205... designed to be a safer product since it's sold 'over the counter' at places like Walmart where people don't know much about detailing. Likewise, I believe Ultimate Polish is a step less aggressive than M205.

But this isn't based on experience, so I could be wrong.

Yep...for me, M105 ain't worth the trouble when M101 is available. And if M101 not avaliable, D300 w/ microfiber cutting discs. No D300...Menz FG400 does nicely.

I second M101, much better cut and finish and easier to work with to boot.

I've moved away from M105 in favor of M100. On foam, I'm pretty sure FG400 cuts the hardest for me actually.

I still love some UC though.

UC is derived from M105 and more user friendly and meant to be used by hand and/or DA. IMO this is a sleeper product and works/finishes really well on most finishes. not to mention it can be bought in a pinch otc in most places...
