I was at work today, when a gentleman in a white Ford Explorer pulled up in front of one of our detail bays. I asked him if he needed something and he pointed out some brownish staining on his rear bumper. I guess he applied some Meg tire dressing and drove afterwards and allowed it to sit over night. Nothing i tried would remove the marking... He left and about 2 hours later came back. Now his rear bumber was a pinkish color. I guess he used a brakedust cleaner and a red towel (which i told him wouldn't be good) and it stained his paint pink. I tired Compounds, clay, and other methods to no avail. Anyone have any info on what the original staining could have been?

Which tire dressing? B/C I know a lot of people use Hyper Dressing and others on trim and tires. Endurance High Gloss will stain towels purple though.

I remember an ole story about using brake fluid on tires to dress them. Ever seen what brake fluid can do to paint, when allowed to sit ...I suspect there is more to this story then he let on.
