Hi,

My detailer used Blackfire Total Polish and Seal as the last step for my 2013 Civic EX.
Which Meguairs product would be the appropriate one to use for light touch ups on top
of the Blackfire....the Quick Wax spray or the Quick Detail spray?

I was thinking one of these products would be a good choice to use in between full
details to remove the usual bird droppings, road bugs, etc.

Or is there a better spray product to use in between details?

Thanks!

Get Both

Use the quick wax for after your washes and use the quick detailer for bird bombs light dust ect.

I like to apply the wax after a wash then top it with the detailer sometimes.

Are all Quick Detailer sprays pretty much the same....Meguiars, Eagle One?

Neither, get Blackfire Wet Diamond Polymer Spray.

Rather than a QD... my vote goes for a waterless wash... of course unless your intend for the QD is for claying.

I use QD after ever hand washing or RW just to make sure no spots or streaks are left behind.
IMO it just makes it looks so darn pretty.
QW after a full wash , it gives me added shine plus boost my protection up a notch.
Both are very good.
Best part is you can buy them OTC.

I do the same. UQW and UQD are both good. You should get both.

Are you talking about Meguiar's "Ultimate" Quik Wax/Quik Detail Spray?

If so:
Which Meguairs product would be the appropriate one to use for light touch ups

>>>the "Ultimate" Quik Detail spray<<<

I was thinking one of these products would be a good choice to use in between full

IMO...Between washes is a little different than between full details.
Here's a couple of articles by Mike Phillips...from 2008:

I.

Ultimate Quik Detailer...G144...is a revolutionary mist and wipe product that works like a spray detailer and enhances wax protection.
Hydrophobic Polymer Technology delivers an incredibly high surface tension which adds protection and causes water to bead relentlessly–wash after wash!
Perfect for removing dust and fingerprints, Ultimate Quik Detailer leaves an ultra-slick, ultra-dark finish and is safe on all paint finishes.

The secret to applying Ultimate Quik Wax:

-Apply to clean vehicle
First you need to start with a clean car, you can either wash and dry the car or wipe the car clean using a mist and wipe product like Quik Detailer or Ultimate Quik Detailer.

-Use a dampened microfiber polishing cloth or wax applicator pad
Next you mist Ultimate Quik Wax onto the surface and spread the product around using a clean, plush microfiber polishing cloth folded 4-ways, or a clean wax applicator pad and here's the secret, before starting first dampen your microfiber polishing cloth or wax applicator pad with Ultimate Quik Wax.

-Apply to entire vehicle
Start at one section of the vehicle and continue applying Ultimate Quik Wax using your dampened applicator pad or dampened microfiber polishing cloth until the entire car is covered with a thin coating of wax.

-Allow the thin coating of Ultimate Quik Wax to flash dry.
In normal temperatures and humidity, Ultimate Quik Wax will dry in just a few moments and will be ready to wipe off.

-Follow your path of travel
Wipe off the dried wax by starting where you first applied the product and then follow your path of travel gently and carefully wiping the dried residue off the paint. Use a separate, clean dry microfiber polishing cloth folded 4 ways to remove the dried film of wax. Using a microfiber polishing cloth folded 4-ways provides a thick plush wiping cloth that helps to spread the pressure of your hand out over the surface of the cloth and gives you 8 sides to wipe with.

-The secret explained
The reason a dampened cloth or applicator pad works best is because it's easier to spread out a thin liquid film if your applicator cloth is already wet or damp with the product you're trying to spread out.

If you use a dry cloth to try to spread out a thin, liquid film then at the same time you're trying to spread the product onto the surface the dry cloth is trying to remove or absorb the product off the paint.

Because a dry cloth absorbs liquids, trying to use a dry cloth to spread a liquid will in essence result in you fighting yourself in the process of trying to spread and leave a liquid on the paint.

That's the secret or the correct technique for making it easy to apply a thin coating of a spray-on wax.

Hope this helps.

If you like the Ultimate line you should try the Gold Class Quick Detailer and Quick Spray Wax. Both are amazing and leave great results.

What is the difference between the Ultimate's and the Gold Class versions of these products? Have you ever used both?

Sometimes I wonder if there really is any difference other than the lable and the bottle.

If you have BF as your LSP, get some BF QD and BF Waterless (for the bird bombs and such). If you want to really amp up the shine, get some BF Poly spray. Your keeping your product in the same line, knowing they all play well together and use the same polymers that will cure together.

I can't speak on the quick wax or quick detailer, but there is a HUGE difference between the Ultimate wax and the Gold Class wax.

They have there differences. Hopefully this helps.

Gold Class spray wax
Meguiars Gold Class Carnauba Plus+ Quik Wax is the answer to achieving a quick, dark, wet-looking shine on all colors, but especially on black vehicles. With a simple mist-on, wipe-off, Carnauba+Plus Quik Wax delivers the rich, warm protection that only carnauba can deliver. The "+Plus" in this formula means it won't leave white residue on plastic or trim, and unlike most waxes, Carnauba+Plus Quik Wax can be applied to a warm surface in direct sun.

UQW
Meguiars Ultimate Quik Wax features Meguiars Hydrophobic Polymer Technology to give your vehicle’s paint unparalleled protection and gloss. The polymer-based spray wax can be applied in direct sunlight on hot surfaces with no streaking or white residues. Meguiars Ultimate Quik Wax offers the longest lasting protection available in a spray wax from Meguiars!

Gold Class Detailer
As part of Meguiar's premium Gold Class line, Meguiars Gold Class High Gloss Quik Detailer is formulated to work especially well on dark colors, excelling with black cars, and it is perfect for removing dust and fingerprints. Gold Class Premium Quik Detailer leaves an ultra-slick, ultra-dark appearance and is safe to use on all paint finishes. It's a perfect complement to the Gold Class waxes.

While this quik detailer does not contain hydrophobic polymers, it is Meguiar's "darkest" mist and wipe product, making it perfect for darker colored vehicles. What that means is that dark colors will appear deeper and more reflective.

UQD
Meguiars Ultimate Quik Detailer bridges the gap between washing and waxing with a unique hydrophobic formula that repels water, withstands multiple car washes, and adds additional protection to the finish. Meguiars Ultimate Quik Detailer beads water relentlessly –wash after wash!

Meguiars Ultimate Quik Detailer is a spray detailer plus a wax booster in one! The Hydrophobic Polymer Technology creates a high level of surface tension that results in a slicker, darker surface that repels water like never before! The slick coating holds up to several car washes and adds another layer of protection over the existing wax or sealant.

Both of the Mequires Ultimate detailer or Spray wax are good products. I have both, but I use Pinnacle XMT Spray wax and Final Finish Instant Detailer on my car after washes. My car beads water relentlessly and both products are easy to use and leave a nice shine, and are often offered on sale or bogo on Autogeek :)
