I am using a Meguiars DA polisher with Gliptone yellow cutting pads. I am not getting the results like I want. I am trying to get out light scratches and blemishes. Should I get different pads or should I get a different Da polisher or should I pick up the rotary buffer or compound again and again. I am using Meguiars 105 and 205

You have some great products there. Only thing I see that you are missing are the Meguiars Microfiber Discs (cutting & finishing)

Are you working in small sections?

Yes. I'm working in small sections. Most if the scratches were removed. The few that were left weren't noticeable from a distance but when you get real close you can see them. I was told that the microfiber disc were only supposed to be used with the microfiber compound.

Do the microfiber disc work with any compound and do they work better?

Cliffy, what exactly is going on? What kind of paint? Megs 105 with any decent pad should be able to remove light scratches of any kind. :dunno:

Yea man. 105 works great with the M/F Discs. You'll be sooooo glad you got them. I guarantee it! :props:

Cliff, Are you seeing scratches as they were before? Or are you seeing micromarring?

In any event, working with your pads, perhaps changing to a lighter pad, changing up arm speed and pressure, (all of the above) should show different results.

I second the motion to try different pads though, especially the MF units. You'll find 105 works, 101, UC, you name it. Another trick with 105 is to prime the pad with UC then use 105 for really extending the working time(s).

I have their 6" Microfiber DA Correction System, and was able to take all of the scuffs, scratches, and swirls out of every panel of a 2011 Honda Pilot with only a single application using the included products (which sure smelled nice, but I doubt that had a part in their effectivness). In all fairness to the M105, and even M205, they also worked just as well with their 3" microfiber discs on a GG3, although the M105 sure made a mess! The ONLY bad thing about their microfiber pads is that you need to use either their micro hook and loop backing plate or their interface pad. If you don't, the pads will not stick very well and may either cause excess heat (one of my pads won't stick anymore, even to their BP or IP) or worse, the pad will go flying off and you could damage the paint.

M101 can also be lightly misted with water to increase the cut and working time (may also work with M105, but didn't say so on the bottle like the M101). Cliff, are you using the yellow pad for both cutting AND polishing? That may be your issue as cutting pads and M105 can cause micro-marring or hazing (which is why they say to follow-up with M205). If you're using the M205 on the same type of pad, you're not going to get anywhere. On the proper pad, I've seen M205 take out stuff that I either missed or the M105 just didn't take out in the first place. That being said, I'm going to refer to Mike's "Use the least aggressive product..." quote and question if you even need the M105 or could you get better results with M205 alone?

Thanks a lot guys!! I just ordered the whole Meguiars MF system. I found it on Amazon for $68 and free shipping.
