Meguiars DA

I bought a Meguiars DA several months ago. I just used it for the second or third time. It started smoking from the motor. Has anyone experienced this before and what should I do about it?

Its not supposed to do that, I would contact whoever you bought it from and let them know. Should be under warranty i would assume

Check to make sure the compression washer is on. Its between the backing plate and spindle.

Sorry to hear that. I remember reading bad reviews of that polisher when it first came out, and I guess they never improved it. If you're still shopping for a polisher, go with the FLEX

I found the washer in the box. I remember using it with the washer on before and had no problems. I put the washer on and plugged it up. It's working great now. I'll see how it works tomorrow when I try it out on the car.

I only used it that one time without the washer. It started smoking immediately so I stopped using it.

I'm always surprised that the washer can cause such a problem! It's always my first suggestion.
