Wanted to do a good review on this product forever one out there, i have been seeing this in stores for awhile now and figured why not due it today while i have some free time ill do a quick detail on my own personal vehicle. So i went back to the store that i remember seeing this product at and bought the Megs Hot Rims and also Megs Hot Shine. (wanted to test this stuff out as well.)

Hope everyone enjoys this review on the product, ill be as honest and detailed as possible.

The product comes in a nice shaped bottle that feels great in your hand while using also comes with a foaming nozzle which is great to put other products in once the megs hot rims runs out.

Here's a photo of one of my rims before anything is done to them, has not been detailed for 2 weeks so there's a good amount of break dust and dirt built up.

Once sprayed on to the tires and the rims all the grime will begin to melt away with out doing no agitating to the chemical at all I would say about 95% of the grime came out with out any agitating. (I let the product sit for 10mins)

After waiting 10mins I took a photo of the rims and then took my new brush that I love and began to agitate the Lugnuts and all over the rims and tires.

After brushing down the whole tire I took my firehose nozzle and sprayed off the tire starting with the rubber working my way in all the way to the lug nuts then working my way back out to the rubber of the tire again.

After drying off the rims and tires I then added the Meg's hot shine and removed any over spray with a terry towel that may have got into the rims.

Here are some photos of the whole car finished, I can say I honestly really do like this product and will be buying it again I almost wanna say it's better then sonax's tire cleaner and if not its definitely up there with it. I rate this product a 9 on a scale 1 to 10. ( ten being the best)

Also I like the Meg's hot shine as well not a real glossy shine more of a natural look which I tend to like more when detailing.

Thank you everyone for your time and I hope the review is helpful.

Thanks for the review and great pics.

But it's my understanding you only should let the product sit for 30-45 seconds. Or am I thinking of a different Meguairs product?

Great review!

This is a great wheel and tire cleaner. Very effective in removing browning and old dressing on the tires.

Instructions are to pre-rinse with water, apply, and wait a maximum of 30 Seconds before agitating and or rinsing.

Yowza 10 min?? Hey what ever works for you go for it. I too love the Hot Rims line of wheel cleaners.

I don't like their method on the directions. Pre rinsing doesn't allow the product to hold as well as I would like it too. And as you can see my method works very well yes it takes a little longer and maybe I exaggerated with 10mins... 5 mins it more then enough to time I normally wait till the foam dissipates then I remove the product after

I guess using it as a wheel cleaner would work. Personally, I just use the product as a pad cleaner. I'm pretty happy with the job it does.

For deep cleaning pads or all the time?

I use D143 but it's is nice to know I can get a bottle of this excellent tire/wheel cleaner in a pinch locally

I get the majority of stuff out with a APC+/foam soap mix and/or pad cleaner. Last step is to work some Hot Rims into the pad and rinse. The stuff works well. I got the idea from another poster on this site. I don't remember who.

It probably does pretty similar to what D143 would do. Hot Rims may be a little stronger. Not sure.

I tried this stuff out over the weekend. I've been using OPC or any APC for wheels. I found this to be better than any APC for wheels. I guess a dedicated wheel/tire cleaner is formulated more for the job.
