Well guys looking for a little help.
I have a full paint correction booked on a Mercedes 500SL. I'm planning on using M105 and M205 with my Rupes 21 and Meguiars Microfiber pads. The question I have is the cutting pads don't seem to grab the backing plate well because of the Meguiars logo and worried the pad will fly off when turn up the speed on the Rupes 21. Has anybody had isssues with using the Rupe21 and Meguiars microfiber pads.
Thanks

I have been using the 21 since it's introduction as well as the meg's mf pads with no problems. Many people complain of the opposite, too much grab with the blue bp and switch to the gray for easier pad removal. If your bp is in good shape you should be just fine.

Thanks. The bp is new, I switched from the 6" to 5" bp when I first got my Rupes 21 but none of my suppliers had 5" microfiber cutting pads in stock so bought the 6" instead.

I use both the 5" and 6" bp's with the 5" being my favorite. As long as you match pad size to the bp , you should have no problem.

I assume they're the same but I've had no issues using the megs mf pads with my rupes 15

Thanks for all your help. Had no issues with Meguiars microfiber pads. The Benz looks great and another happy customer, now hopefully he won't clean his car with shop towels again and all I can say is wow 90's Mercedes-Benz clear coat is one of the hardest I've ever worked on.

Honestly it wasn't that bad. I primed the pad, cleaned it after every other section pass and didn't go crazy adding too much M105.
If you want to see dust, try Farecla G3 with a Rotary buffer...lol

Looks like everything worked out well for you and the car looks great.

Well the painted portion of the car looks great but the lower section looks so so. Is there anything that can be done about the matt body panels without redyeing them?
